Nice course if play was more than 5 hours
Good course but there is always slow play going on at this course
rough was thick and challenging, greens were a little furry but rolled nice.
Great track. The back nine is more than you ever want after a decent front nine.
Great course with friendly staff
Love the driving range by the 1st tee, you warm up until it's you turn to tee off. Great course conditions. A lot of fun to play.
Good value
Always well maintained, great bang for the buck, a course that will have you use every club in the bag.
The greens were aerated 3 weeks ago and still not in good condition
The staff in the clubhouse was friendly as well as the starter. The greens were in poor shape and very sandy even though it was aerated 3 weeks prior. I played there in August 2012 and the greens were completely sand. I don't think there was a green spot to be seen. And they had the nerve to charge full price. One of our carts died on the 9th hole and the other on the 12th. They obviously were not serviced before the round. A rude group behind us hit into us on at least 3 holes and knew they were doing it. If that is the kind of customer they attract, I would warn others against going there. It will be a while before I go back.
Great price for a decent course
This has always been a nice course to play. It is still a bit early for the course to be better, and hopefully the grounds crew will be able to really get the conditions lush.
Don't bother
Course was in terrible shape. Granted it was the end of March, but there was no grass on fairways, the greens were aerated and sandy, and the course was just blah. Don't bother playing
Not bad for a municipal course.
During the winter months the course is playable but not great and not horrible either. the greens get aerated the beginning of spring so be aware of that.
In the summer months the course is in good condition with a fun yet challenging layout. The staff is freindly and helpfull and you can't beat this course for the price!
Great course
I always enjoy Rancocas. It's kept in great shape and it's a challenging course.
Nice course. Great staff. Great value.
This was my first time playing Rancocas. First off, the staff was very nice. The course was virtually empty even though the temp was near 50, I thought there would be more players. The course was in good shape even though it was mid-January. The 3s and some of the 4s are pretty simple but the 5s, especially the 13th are tough. My cart failed on 3 (first time its ever happened to me) but the staff got me another one within minutes, thumbs up to them. For $22.50 including a cart, it was a great value. I will probably return in the spring to play the course at its best conditions. I would recommend this course to all players.
Nice public course, and not in bad shape for playing mid November
Course overbooked it's weekend tee times, which resulted in super slow play. At one point on the back 9 we waited almost 30 minutes just to tee off, since there was a party of 4 on the green, 4 in the fairway, 4 in the tee box, and 2 waiting in front of us. Needless to say I won't be playing on the weekend there any time soon! But overall it is a nice public course, that is a decent value if you take advantage of golf now's discounted tee times.
slow sundays
the front nine is sort of open and wide, but not easy because its peppered with traps at strategic places. if youre working out a slice or hook, bring a beach towel.
the back is far more closed in with trees and some mean doglegs. also, the addition of water features comes into play. this substantially slowed my rate as there were 3 foursomes ahead of me, playing alone.
i definitely recommend rancocas, with the caveat to avoid sunday afternoons if your alone in a pair.
Rancocas -- No Hokus Pokus
This was my first visit to Rancocas... I got a last minute deal from GolfNow and could not resist.... If I tell you how much I paid you wouldnt believe me.
I really enjoyed the course, I thought it was in very good condition, and met up with another gentleman playing alone. We had a good time.
Definitely looking to going back soon.
This is a very nice course
This course has everything you are looking for in a round of golf. The course is well maintained and the staff members are friendly and helpful. The course is challenging enough and the layout is not bad. I will play this course a number of times every year as the price is outstanding(Golfnow.com), and the course is well worth it.
real classic layout
Built in 1966 by Robert Trent Jones Sr, loaded will challenges, stingy fairways. Small greens, well kept and putts roll true, tad slow. You have to make shots here to stay in the fairway, but pars are to be had with good approaches. The course will bring every club into play, and each hole has a unique flavor.
