Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. Nice course with awful playing time...
This was our second time playing this course. First time was last spring - cool morning, paired up with two nice fellas, nice round. Today was probably my last time playing this course. To be fair, it was the Monday before a holiday and it's about a 30 min drive from my house. However, it was painfully sloooow...waiting at least 5 min per shot. No way 8 min tee times are gonna work on a holiday weekend (or maybe any normal busy day). We actually left after 9 (thanks Hot Deals) - so did the single we were paired with. If you live close to this course and can get out at off hours (weekdays before 5) I'd recommend giving it a try - it's got some unique holes. Otherwise, I'd pass.

Pretty decent course
The fairways are so narrow. If you are not straight you are playing in the other fairways.
The green speed seems slower than other courses.
Overall.. a decent course. The staff is great!

Very nice but very slow
Course was very nice, I got a hot deal for 25 bucks mid morning.
There were leagues that morning and it was painfully slow, like 3 groups waiting on a par 3 slow.
The course was nice, the cart was very nice and the Gentleman in the club house was very professional and helpful.
I'd play at green crest everyday if I could get the deal I had and it was closer to me.
Play this course this summer if you can!!

Very nice!!
I played here for $25 via a hot deal. Course was very nice but the pace of play was terrible, it took my 5 hours to complete a round at 10am behind a league of very poor and slow golfers.
I will 100% return however, the course, carts and staff were all top notch!!

Noisy front 9
Nice course, well maintained, some fun and challenging holes.
4-5 of the front nine holes are right next to a busy highway though, so if you’re looking for a quiet course you might get thrown off during those holes.
Lot’s of potential, but painfully slow
We’ve played here a few times and on balance we liked it and will come back. I think the front nine is more interesting than the back, but both have a couple of really unique holes. It was a Saturday before Father’s Day so no surprise that it took our foursome 6 hours to play 18 holes.
There is a starter but no ranger that I saw all day. A lot of younger adults come out for a day of drinking and golf and sometimes that slows things down. We had a “6 some” in front of us. They teed off the first hole as two threesomes, but quickly joined up and all played together. The front nine took over 3 hours, but the back was a bit quicker.
I think there are some things they could do to help pace of play. Should never let a single or twosome go out on the weekend. Hire a ranger to keep an eye on things. The people who work here are all great and very friendly. It’s a long course and can fool you on a number of holes. Par 5 over 500 yards, some Par 4’s 400 yards or greater. If I compare this course to other municipal courses it is a much better course than some and I’d play here before playing at other muni’s in the area.
