About
Sugar Isle Golf Course was designed by Jack Kidwell, a familiar name among southern Ohio golf courses. Water is a prominent feature of the course, Kidwell incorporated it on more than half of the holes. Some 20 white sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout the layout, providing a scenic contrast to the water and lush greens. For an added challenge, many of the fairways are lined with mature trees although there is some room for error, which makes them more accessible. It is a course that will make you think but it is not too intimidating for beginners. The versatility makes it popular for outings and tournaments. Sugar Isle has even hosted the area's high school programs for more than 30 years. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and large putting green.

and now this course does this....
I like to come to this course and play a round by myself on days when i dont have to report to work til the evening. well this is another course im not going to come to again. my last time in i was told that i was lucky cuz i didnt have a group to be paired with..ive played this course for yrs.. never have i been paired with another group...apparently that is now going to happen.. if i wanted that id go play at miami shores. i play by myself to unwind.. if i want to be social i will play with someone when i choose. the last thing i want is to have somebody in my cart while im trying to do my own thing.. so back to the dayton courses..i hear theres a great course in arcanum i should check out... if your going to be on golf now dont be that person and force all your golf now customers to play together. just dont give the option for a single..that easy. hope you change your mind on this new policy..
Fall Golf
Course was in good shape, greens had been worked for winter, fairways could have been cut but not to bad, pace of play was great and the weather was beautiful . Fall golf in Ohio is a great time to play.

First time since the course change
The course was in good shape, probably the hardest greens around with all of the level changes. I got caught behind an outing which wasn't good, I don't know if they weren't spaced out well or not. It took 4 hours to complete my round. I am also not sure why the change of the hole numbers. I think it flowed better the old way, especially if you are walking like I was. It just seems like you are crossing over and around the cart barn more. Other than that it still is a nice and challenging course. I look forward to going back soon (and hope for no outing in front of me!).

Great little course
Always enjoy playing here . The greens are challenging with some having multiple tiers. Staff is always friendly and willing to serve your needs. Cons: the carts are old and need replaced and the pace of play can be slow at times, but overall a great value for price.

Odd layout
The course layout was different from a couple of years ago. We prefer the old layout...which had better flow in our opinion. Fairways and greens were in good shape with the exception of each green had a patch that was plugged...appeared they were testing aeration. Enjoyed the course.
Nice course
Staff very friendly course layout is good. this isnt a hard course but its a fun course to play. you get a couple island holes. well, ones an island the other is just mainly surrounded by water. a few of the pin locations can make these holes easy or hard depending on the day. there is a lot of dry spots but they keep the fairways fresh and the greens are in pretty good shape.

Old Sugar Isle
I use to play this course when I was high school (11 year ago) and it was a challenge then and it still is. They changed the layout a bit, (The par 3 island green used to be 18 and now its 9) but it still sets up nicely. two of the par 5's are tough and the other you can get on in two with two good shots. overall the course was worth the hot now deal price I got it for. I would recommend this course to anyone.

best bang for the buck !!
great course, nice layout of holes. played this course the first time last year, course was a bit rough. this year has brought a lot of great changes, grass in fairways is kept up, and has separated fairways now. greens are in great condition. course is somewhat challenging, great course for all levels of play. you can see the effort of the course to bring big changes. now I play this course about 5,6 times a month, and claim it as my home course. every golfer should come play this gem...

Nice Greens large and lots of slopes in very nice shape
Course is in very nice condition with chance of shooting low scores. Played fast pace till we caught up to a 6 em that killed my game sitting watching them...
