About
Sugar Isle Golf Course was designed by Jack Kidwell, a familiar name among southern Ohio golf courses. Water is a prominent feature of the course, Kidwell incorporated it on more than half of the holes. Some 20 white sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout the layout, providing a scenic contrast to the water and lush greens. For an added challenge, many of the fairways are lined with mature trees although there is some room for error, which makes them more accessible. It is a course that will make you think but it is not too intimidating for beginners. The versatility makes it popular for outings and tournaments. Sugar Isle has even hosted the area's high school programs for more than 30 years. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and large putting green.

Great pace of play
Course conditions were good. Tee boxes were a little rough. Greens running 6 to 7 average. Pace of play was excellent…finished 3 1/2 hours. For a Sunday?
Solid course
One of my favorite "budget," courses in the area. The greens were in great shape and have improved since last year. I've played the course 4 times now this year and will be back at least that many times later this year.
Good day on the course
Course was in good shape …tee boxes were a little rough. Pace of play was good for a Sunday. 4 1/2 hours. Staff was super friendly and facilities were clean. Carts on the other hand had a lot to be desired. Really rough and older but ran perfectly. Understandable considering in tunnel to the other side of the road the cart rubbed both sides going through! Could be a little unnerving doing it the first time! Great course for the money!
Good GolfNow price for 18/cart
The greens were in good shape with nice wide fringe. The fairways were mowed low and in good shape. However, the rough was out of hand. Way too tall for this time of year when it's lush. Lost several balls right off the fairway in this thick, deep rough.
Pace of play
Course was in good shape except for the sand traps. They haven’t attended to them yet. Pace of play was horrible. Waited at every hole. Seems like they over scheduled. Took about 4 1/2 hours to play.

Course was in ok shape for spring. On course rangers were friendly, can't say the same for the guy inside. (acted like he didn't want to be there)
Spring golf
The course overall was in good condition for this early in the year. The fairways and tees were a little rough but I’m sure once it warms up they’ll be in good shape. Greens were punched and sanded but rolled well enough to shoot an 80. Overall well worth the money!
