Split Rock Golf Club
About
Split Rock Golf Club was carved from the rolling countryside of northern Pickaway County. Its picturesque design is perfectly in sync with the natural surroundings. Designed by the local design team of Michael Hurzdan and Dana Fry, the golf course actually required little manipulation since much of the challenge comes from the natural features of the undulating terrain. The layout has slightly different nines that offer a diversity that appeals to a range of skill levels. The front nine is more open and forgiving while the back nine has tighter fairways that are lined with trees. Water is not a prominent presence at Split Rock Golf Club but it does come into play. In addition to the golf course, golfers are welcome to use the driving range and putting greens before teeing off.

Good Value
Friendly staff, updates, and continued work on the course and facilities make it a good day at the golf course.
come back when the drought is over
nice layout, overall nice course. need to take better care of the fairways to keep the playing surface more playable.
Solid course
There's nothing particularly spectacular about the course in my opinion, but nothing bad either. It's fairly forgiving, which is nice for the beginner and intermediate golfers. Overall, it was a solid course that provided an enjoyable golf experience, and I would play it again for the right price.
Interesting track but not manicured like some
I've played here three times. I always like the layout. A nice variety of holes and scenery. Parts are a bit hilly. A fair amount of trees. Throw in a couple lakes and a creek. I always feel like it's A pleasant ride in the country. The fairways are clay based without any thatch in the grass so it's very hard. A bit "harsh" I guess. Not plush like some of the older courses in town. Greens are decent. Most have a lot of undulation. I wish more people repaired their hallmarks here. A bit cratered up. The course condition and "feel" is not going to blow anyone away. It is not "manicured" by any stretch, but I think it's a great value for what it is.....,and don't wash your car right before you go. Long driveway and parking lot is gravel. My Car was filthy by 6:00 pm.
Budget price, excellent experience
This was our first time playing split rock, always heard great things about the course. The course was extremely fun and had a ton of elevation changes which keeps things interesting. The layout overall was very good and the pace of play was great we never felt rushed or felt that we were being held up by the group in front of us. They had a ranger out at all times monitoring the pace of play. The food at the clubhouse was really good for the price. Jumbo sized hot dogs for the price of mini hot dogs you would get from other courses. Staff was all very friendly. Will be going back for sure!
love it
in great shape even with all the recent rain - staff is ALWAYS helpful and courteous, a big plus to me!
Will continue to enjoy playing here regularly
Course is very forgiving for the average golfer
Very nice people. Course can be challenging for accomplished golfer if you play from the blacks yet forgiving for the beginner from blues and whites.
First Time @ SR
The course was peaceful and enjoyable. The staff was wonderful! Enjoyed the experience and will play the course again.
Split Rock Links Review
Course was great. Lots of people were out there having fun. First time playing a links course. I think its great for golfers who slice and pull the ball. Your still able to recover from it to save par or even a chance at birdie. I will definitely play here time and time again.
Split Rock - Consistently Enjoyable
The course where my son got me hooked on golf about 15 years ago. Always fun and pleasantly challenging and the staff treats you like family. Go play!
Fastest round ever
Course is moderately challenging and is usually in decent condition. Pace of Play is usually good. I played as a single and as I approached a 3 some they allowed me to pass. Occurred 3 time on this round and I actually had one of the fastest rounds ever.
Everyone was very friendly and I will play this course often.
Nice layout
The course is layer out in a manner that gives the average golfer a chance to score but with a change of tee boxes will challenge the low handicapper. It was in great shape tee to green. I would recommend it to any golfer.
Good value
Played 6/23/15 on Golfnow Hotdeal. Greens were great. Fairways were in nice shape. Clubhouse was nice. Great no frills golf course.
Nice course
Thought the course was nice and a great value for the money.
Decent course
Split Rock is coming along nice. Worth the drive, peaceful country setting, friendly staff.
Not to bad right now
quick choice to play. Greens were in good shape. Tee boxes could have been mowed. The fairways were ok but kinda long. Overall not to bad.
I'll go back again
Split Rock
Got a hot deal for $12.00 and was pleasantly surprised with this course. The course fairly well maintained but the tee boxes and edges of fairways could use some work as the ground is very hard. Course is rather easy if you are not a beginner and allows for lots of room to miss off tee shots and balls are easy to find. Nice elevation and change ups on course. Overall had a great day playing this course I would play again.
The course has rolling terrain, despite being in flat country
We played the course for the first time this week and were pleasantly surprised at the natural beauty, of the rolling fairways, undulating greens, and the clever use of the small creek in this very interesting setting. The course is not long, from the white tees, but will challenge you to place tee shots with care - I liked the greens, the shape of them, the lay of them, and the condition. The Split Rock is the real thing - check it out on the back side, near the green on one of the par 3's. Look forward to playing it again.
Nice find
Although it is not my first time playing here, I find it difficult to believe that this course doesn't get more play. Not a long course, but it has some truly unique holes. A few holes are also uninspired. Not a new age bent grass wonder. Greens were a challenge with their undulating character. Nice bar at the 10th hole. Worth a trip to see.
Senior friendly course.
Had a great time playing Split Rock. I will be back to play again shortly.
