Willow Run Golf Course
About
Willow Run Golf Course was designed by a ubiquitous name in central Ohio, Jack Kidwell. The local designer played a role in creating many of the state's courses but he infused a different character into each. Willow Run has an interesting layout that will test your shot making skills as well as your course management capabilities. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are accented with Ohio bluegrass. Correct placement off the tees is the key to doing well, especially on the front nine. Plenty of water comes into play throughout the golf course as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Willow Run's back nine boasts one of the most challenging par 4s in Ohio, the 13th. The green on this tricky hole is fronted by a meandering creek.

Willow did not disappoint
Spent a very enjoyable afternoon with my step bro n law. Early April afternoon, temps started around 50 ish at noon and by 3:30 ish I believe close to 60 degrees made for a very comfortable Spring round of golf for the two of us. The greens were very good. Traps at this time of year are iffy anywhere in central Ohio public golf. Fairways were iffy as well but we are still dealing with feeezing overnight temps. We knew what to expect and were not disappointed. The Golfnow rate with a reward made this outing very accommodating....
Classic old course
Have been playing course since 1979 and has always been a enjoyable game to play.
PATH me the bottle Mr. Jones
Really nice course. Obviously being so early in the year the conditions was so-so. The cart path on the other hand is the worst cart path I’ve ever been on in my life.
greens were in good shape, not much else to say about conditions since it was the end of February, so they are not ideal. with that said, these are the worst cart paths I have seen to date on a course.
Rough
Fairways have not been kept up all year, greens in good condition though.
Conditions
Easy to get to, friendly staff in the Pro shop, greens were nice however the fairways, 12 of them, were in rough shape, areas no grass, bare spots, mud, and some sand traps were mediocre in conditioning. Appears they have a drainage problem or no drainage on the course.
Willow Run
Got a great Hot Deal for $13. 18 holes & a cart. Played best ball with my two sons. Fun round. The only really negative was the cart paths. They really need some work. Overall a really fun round of golf.
Rough Road
Course is layer out to challenge, not destroy your round. Greens ran straight and true.
The title is because their cart paths are horrible. They really need repair.
If the course had not been as good as it is, the ratings would have been much closer to “1”.
Can't beat the weekly after 1PM price.
Course is always in great condition and well maintained. For the price and location you can't beat it with a cart. This is one of my favourite courses to play year round and it's easy to get to. I agree that the cart paths need to be redone, however that is the only downfall I can come up with.
for the money Willow Run is one of best bargains in central Ohio
One of my favorites
I've played at Willow since I was 8-10 years old so I might be a bit biased but this is a great course. The course is always well kept and provides a good challenge so great value for the money. Would recommend it to anyone.
Enjoy playing this course
Nice course with all the challenges, water, sand traps etc. Weekend play is slower due to volume of players but there’s no waiting on weekdays, pretty standard with all courses. The greens are nicely kept and the fairways are a little patchy in places. Overall I have recommended this course and will play there again.
First Timer
I’ll start by saying the greens were great. A lot of the par 4 holes are in the 340-350 range which probably benefits most but I like to use the Driver and the front 9 has a creek running across most holes at about the 250 mark. Guess how far I hit my driver? Yep, 250. That’s not a knock on the course I’m just not smart enough to play “smart” golf so it was in play for me a lot. If you’re looking for straight holes with some fairly tight fairways at times and well groomed greens this is a course for you.
Good to practice a Round on
I paid $20 on for a round the course is very dry, last time I played is was extremely wet. Not my first choice, but the price was right at $20 for the round on Golf Now
Staff
Super slow pace and significant water on everything. Steer clear of this course a day or two after heavy rains. After a super slow 9 the gentleman manning the pro-shop threw me the keys to a cart and pointed me toward 14 (knowing it would be free sailing). Ended this round in a high note because of the staff! Great job!
