Willow Run Golf Course
About
Willow Run Golf Course was designed by a ubiquitous name in central Ohio, Jack Kidwell. The local designer played a role in creating many of the state's courses but he infused a different character into each. Willow Run has an interesting layout that will test your shot making skills as well as your course management capabilities. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are accented with Ohio bluegrass. Correct placement off the tees is the key to doing well, especially on the front nine. Plenty of water comes into play throughout the golf course as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Willow Run's back nine boasts one of the most challenging par 4s in Ohio, the 13th. The green on this tricky hole is fronted by a meandering creek.

Bumpy Ride
Overall Willow Run is a good deal. The layout is nice with a variety of hole types. Par 3's are varied which is always nice. The course ranges from straight forward par 4's to a few real challengers.
A few holes are kind of stupid with my least liked hole being 13. A par four down a hallway of a fairway to a sloped green. Too much all in one hole.
While the golfing surfaces are generally in good shape with greens that roll true the ride in a cart can break your back. The cart paths are bumpy and pot holed. You are more likely to drive in the rough to save your back but even that doesn't provide much relief since there are ridges and dips that will also compress your spine. If you can, I would say take a walk. The course is easily walkable.
great value for what I paid
Fun Course to play. Only problem 3 some slid in between holes 9 and 10 and slowed down our play. They were supposedly playing league play later on the front 9 and felt like they were entitled to start on hole 10 for an extra 9 holes. Course should have asked them to play front 9 or not at all.
Golf Willow Run
I thought the course was a very nice value, course was in great shape, greens were beautiful.
And.staff was very accommodating.
THE ROUND WAS RAINED OUT BUT THE AMENITIES WERE GREAT AND THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL. TO BAD WE DID NOT GET TO PLAY.
Great golf
The staff is always friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape. Although the course was busy the pace was fast.
You get more than what you pay for
This course has some fairly easy holes as well as some pretty challenging ones. Course was in very good condition overall. Rain was forecast so we had no waiting for tee boxes to clear. Had a great time and excellent value for what you get
Define value?
Because of no marshal it took us 6 hours to play 18 with no stop at the clubhouse at the turn. Would have enjoyed it more had the pace been controlled. 35 minutes to play #15 & #16. I'm not a great golfer but it was hard to wait 5-10 minutes per shot.
Another Great Round at Willow Run
As always great to get out last minute on a great sunny day.
Thank you
good value
fairly flat and dry, so the ball travelled FAR. some water. Bunkers and greens in poor condition
Great Value, Fun Course
Love playing at Willow Run. Fast pace of play. Good variety out on the course and never bored with this place! Always looking forward to a round at Willow.
Nice Round
Last minute decision was a good one! Got right on as expected and had a nice round of golf. Staff was friendly and course was nice. Only thing I would change would be my backswing! Thanks!
Good value for the money
We booked our tee time last minute because we were looking to play at a course closer to the north end of Columbus, which in hindsight work out great for us. With it being the week of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield, all the golf course in the area seemed to be not offering deals on the discounted golf websites such as Golfnow or Teeoff. We were able to book an 11:00am tee time at Willow Run for $22.00, on the same day. The course was in good condition, fairways mowed and greens were cut. The only negative was that many of the sand bunkers were full of water, many of them long enough to have tadpoles in them. Fortunately for me the two bunkers I had to play out of were in good shape. This is a fun golf course and a very good value. I will be back.
Great course for a quick 18
A fairly short, pretty well maintained course that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Nope, it isn't a country club, but you aren't paying country club prices either. Mark is a great asset to the course - very friendly, and works to keep the course well groomed. Fun to play. You have to bring your best short game.
Course is in best condition that I have ever played it.
