Willow Run Golf Course
About
Willow Run Golf Course was designed by a ubiquitous name in central Ohio, Jack Kidwell. The local designer played a role in creating many of the state's courses but he infused a different character into each. Willow Run has an interesting layout that will test your shot making skills as well as your course management capabilities. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are accented with Ohio bluegrass. Correct placement off the tees is the key to doing well, especially on the front nine. Plenty of water comes into play throughout the golf course as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Willow Run's back nine boasts one of the most challenging par 4s in Ohio, the 13th. The green on this tricky hole is fronted by a meandering creek.

One of my top 5 favorite courses!!
I have played this course dozens of times and have been happy with the experience much more often than not.
Played this last time in really poor, wet conditions - had rained for all except one day in the last thirty days. The course was really wet and had some standing water, but that could be said for 95% of all the courses around Columbus.
It looked like it was going to rain pretty hard before I tee'd off on #1 and I asked the clubhouse attendant if they offered rain checks. He said they did, but went ahead and just let me play for free given the course conditions and the threat of more rain.
The greens are always a shade faster than the average public course, but not too overwhelming. The fairways are normally lush and great to hit off of. The tee boxes on a couple of the par 3's are kind of beat up, but that is more a testament to the people playing not filling in their divots.
I guess the only real complaint I have is that there seems to be league play every weeknight. I realize this is a guaranteed source of income for the course though, so it is understandable.
One last note, if you can birdie #13 you are awesome...I think I have parred it once and had double bogey or worse more times than I can count...not a long hole (375 or so from the white tees), but a bear nonetheless.
Outings
Should not book tee times when you have golf outings! People are loud I did not go there for a party! ! Went to play golf...shhhhhhhh
Fun Yet Challenging Course I Look Forward To Playing Again
Of course with all the rain we have had this year the course had its share of puddles but even with saying that, the course was still in great shape. Greens were excellent and dried out quickly as the morning warmed up. The pace of play was beyond slow but that was more just due to the group 2 ahead of us which we finally were able to play around on hole 13. Plenty of water and bunkers to play around. Course really makes you play with your entire golf bag from the long par 5's to shorter par 3. Looking forward to playing again
solid course- good service
great service, I go to this course often its a good solid course but the service is why I continue to go back. they will let you tee of from the front or the back depending on how busy, majority of the time they do not pair up the singles unless its needed due to slow play. its a quite course with good people.
Good Value Course.
I would not give this course a 4 but its better then a 3. The course is what you would expect for a $20 golf now round. Pace of play was fine for a weekend. Greens and fairways were in good shape.
Great course, bad cart paths
Course was in pretty good shape. I got out early and was the second on the course (based on seeing one set of footprints on each green ahead of me).
I play fast and this course is well suited to that. 18 holes in under 2 and a half hours.
$1.25 per can of pop at the clubhouse is a bit pricey, but I have seen worse.
The cart paths are in terrible shape and I recommend steering clear of them as much as possible.
The fairways and greens were in great shape (except for one green which had some weird marks across it from a mower).
Bunker drainage was mostly good - I only saw one "pond bunker" on the course.
Willow Run
Blue tees needed work but all else was very enjoyable
Golf day
For $10 it was great. Just an average course with hidden creeks crossing the fairway. At full cost, would play elsewhere.
Great course
Tee time of 7:10 and walked off 18 @ 10:30 - exceptional pace on a Saturday morning.
Not bad for the price.
The course has a nice layout with some challenging holes. Course was in okay shape. By far the worst golf carts I have ever seen. The main draw is that it is conveniently located for me and it is low cost.
willow Run doesn't disappoint
Definitely worth $20-25
Cart paths could use a little work but tee boxes and greens were great. We have had a lot of rain but they are cutting the grass non stop and they are controlling the weeds! Food and service was great.
Very Good Course but.......
Challenging course. We got a good deal via online. Pace of play was excellent but I am unsure how much that had too do with course management because we saw zero rangers patrolling the course. Challenging course - some of the greens had an excess of sand making putting even more challenging. The golf carts are from the 1960s and the brakes are something akin to the Fred Flintstone braking systems. All and in all a good course and it will challenge the weekend golfer.
Fun round
I enjoyed playing willow run. The course set up seems to really maximize the area the course is laid out on and provide lots of interesting shots for golfers. Many of the approach shots require shaping or carrying the creek, a bunker, or a tree. The elevation changes make things more interesting too. I wouldn't call this course difficult, but it's definitely not easy. It's definitely a place where a novice can feel comfortable taking danger out of play but a more skilled player can have fun. I will continue to play at Willow Run.
great golf
willow run is a great course to play,it always is.
Great course and even better staff
The course is in great shape . The stream that runs through the course is always a challenge. teamed up with 2 other singles and had a great round. only negative was very slow, busy course on wednesday afternoon.
Course in great shape on Sunday
Played Sunday AM, the clubhouse did a good job of spacing the groups and there was minimal waiting. The course was in really good shape, definitely rewarded by keeping it in the fairway. A couple greens had unfixed marks but most of them were in good shape. For the price we found on GolfNow (<$25), it was a great bargain and I'd play it again.
Willow Run
I have passed this course many times. I decided to give it a try with one of the Hot Deals. I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice place to play with some challenging holes. I will definitely be back.
Enjoyable day even with a packed course.
A beautiful Sunday following a dreary Saturday is a certain formula for a busy golf course.
Kudos to the groundskeepers for keeping the course in very good playing conditions.
Too bad so many golfers forget to repair ball marks-otherwise the greens were in decent shape for this time of year.
Tricky Course
Played this course after a night where the area recieved upwards of 2 inches of rain. Conditions as you would expect were wet. Course is tricky and you definetly need someone who has played it before to tell you where to hit it and not hit it. This is a thinkers course. Cant get up there and blast away, must be able to shape shots, but is lots of fun! I shot 75 making two doubles
rain check
Told us they could not give us a raincheck since webooked the tee time on golf now, i had to argue with the guy for five to ten minutes then he agreed to give us a nine hole raincheck. I felt like he was not very friendly and I shouldnt have to argue just to get something that I was already owed.
