Willow Run Golf Course
About
Willow Run Golf Course was designed by a ubiquitous name in central Ohio, Jack Kidwell. The local designer played a role in creating many of the state's courses but he infused a different character into each. Willow Run has an interesting layout that will test your shot making skills as well as your course management capabilities. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are accented with Ohio bluegrass. Correct placement off the tees is the key to doing well, especially on the front nine. Plenty of water comes into play throughout the golf course as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Willow Run's back nine boasts one of the most challenging par 4s in Ohio, the 13th. The green on this tricky hole is fronted by a meandering creek.

Good value
Played Willow many times. Has been a good price and average conditions each time.
good place for anyone to play.
Great value, but...
Nice course, good condition for early November, but they had already put away the tee markers for the year and the tee boxes needed mowed one more time. Very hard for my wife to find the ladies tees. Overall, I liked the course and it was a great deal with the GolfNow Hot Deal. I don't like the blind creek that runs across the landing area of your tee shots on 17 & 18.
Shorter course
Shorter course but some challenging holes. Hit irons off of a lot of holes. Pace of play was good and the staff was very friendly. Would for sure return to play.
Nice decent course
Great course some tight fairway nice big tree middle of 17 fairway greens in great shape definitely recommend this course to anyone
A hidden gem.
I really enjoy playing this course. The course was in very good shape. There are a lot of interesting holes. There is enough water and mature trees to make it a tough but fair course. We played 18 holes in about 3 hours and 45 minutes. I plan to play here more often in the future.
Decent course
Teed of by myself and joined two some to get stuck behind 5 some. And from the way they were telling us there were two foresomes stuck behind two 5 somes. I guess 20$ all u can play keeps people rotating around with zero marshall oversight. It was holiday weekend and I got 16$ deal. I'll come back during the week.
Had hoped to play 18 holes...
A slow-playing 4-some (2 men, 2 women) held up at least 5 groups. Totally clueless! (I realize it was a Sunday afternoon, but really?) Waited 5-10 minutes for every shot. Took just under 3 hours in 90-degree heat to play 9 holes. No ranger to move groups along. No drinking water provided - better take your own.
The holes are varied and interesting and the course is in reasonable condition. Each par 3 is a different length (good). Hole 2 is nicely designed. There's a big tree in the middle of the 6th fairway, which is a bit odd, but forces you to make a decision.
Had hoped to play 18 holes, but 5-6 hours in 90-degree heat due to very slow play cut my outing in half. I might go back.
Well worth the drive
30 minutes from Hilliard but easy to find and well worth the drive. Course is moderately challenging. Definitely recommend a some sort of GPS or range finder. Need to be aware of creek that winds through entire course. I liked the fact that you just couldn't pull out driver on every hole and whack it ! ! Need to 'think' a bit about placement/yardage off of the tee in order to avoid the creek. GREENS are in EXCELLENT condition. Will definitely return.
Fun Layout
A narrow creek comes into play in a majority of the holes. It doesn't increase the overall difficulty of the coarse drastically, but it does make for little nuisance as it sits at distance right around where someone who drives in the mid-200s would hit their tee shot. Overall this coarse had some memorable holes. The par 5s are long and straight and some par 4s were quite challenging. The only critique I have is the simplicity of all the par 3s. They're quite forgettable.
Very friendly staff
All staff was very friendly and helpful. Great price for round and cart. Only dislike was there were no yardage to hole markers in fairways and i personally didnt like the course layout. It plays tighter/narrower and less forgiving for a hacker like me. Also there was no hole layout on scorecard or at tee box so it was difficult to guess exactly where i should hit and any potential dangers that may lay out of site ahead. Again the staff and price were second to none. Glad i played but probably wouldnt again. Imo only.
Jeff
decent course for price
I had a great front 9 experience. fairways and greens were good to play on. At the turn however, someone helped themselves to my 600$ i phone that I had in the cup holder while i used the bathroom. Needless to say I didn't enjoy the back 9 too well. Good Course, just make sure to grab all your belongings...Even for a bathroom break
One of my top 5 favorite courses!!
I have played this course dozens of times and have been happy with the experience much more often than not.
Played this last time in really poor, wet conditions - had rained for all except one day in the last thirty days. The course was really wet and had some standing water, but that could be said for 95% of all the courses around Columbus.
It looked like it was going to rain pretty hard before I tee'd off on #1 and I asked the clubhouse attendant if they offered rain checks. He said they did, but went ahead and just let me play for free given the course conditions and the threat of more rain.
The greens are always a shade faster than the average public course, but not too overwhelming. The fairways are normally lush and great to hit off of. The tee boxes on a couple of the par 3's are kind of beat up, but that is more a testament to the people playing not filling in their divots.
I guess the only real complaint I have is that there seems to be league play every weeknight. I realize this is a guaranteed source of income for the course though, so it is understandable.
One last note, if you can birdie #13 you are awesome...I think I have parred it once and had double bogey or worse more times than I can count...not a long hole (375 or so from the white tees), but a bear nonetheless.
Outings
Should not book tee times when you have golf outings! People are loud I did not go there for a party! ! Went to play golf...shhhhhhhh
Fun Yet Challenging Course I Look Forward To Playing Again
Of course with all the rain we have had this year the course had its share of puddles but even with saying that, the course was still in great shape. Greens were excellent and dried out quickly as the morning warmed up. The pace of play was beyond slow but that was more just due to the group 2 ahead of us which we finally were able to play around on hole 13. Plenty of water and bunkers to play around. Course really makes you play with your entire golf bag from the long par 5's to shorter par 3. Looking forward to playing again
solid course- good service
great service, I go to this course often its a good solid course but the service is why I continue to go back. they will let you tee of from the front or the back depending on how busy, majority of the time they do not pair up the singles unless its needed due to slow play. its a quite course with good people.
Good Value Course.
I would not give this course a 4 but its better then a 3. The course is what you would expect for a $20 golf now round. Pace of play was fine for a weekend. Greens and fairways were in good shape.
Great course, bad cart paths
Course was in pretty good shape. I got out early and was the second on the course (based on seeing one set of footprints on each green ahead of me).
I play fast and this course is well suited to that. 18 holes in under 2 and a half hours.
$1.25 per can of pop at the clubhouse is a bit pricey, but I have seen worse.
The cart paths are in terrible shape and I recommend steering clear of them as much as possible.
The fairways and greens were in great shape (except for one green which had some weird marks across it from a mower).
Bunker drainage was mostly good - I only saw one "pond bunker" on the course.
Willow Run
Blue tees needed work but all else was very enjoyable
Golf day
For $10 it was great. Just an average course with hidden creeks crossing the fairway. At full cost, would play elsewhere.
Great course
Tee time of 7:10 and walked off 18 @ 10:30 - exceptional pace on a Saturday morning.
