Willow Run Golf Course
About
Willow Run Golf Course was designed by a ubiquitous name in central Ohio, Jack Kidwell. The local designer played a role in creating many of the state's courses but he infused a different character into each. Willow Run has an interesting layout that will test your shot making skills as well as your course management capabilities. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are accented with Ohio bluegrass. Correct placement off the tees is the key to doing well, especially on the front nine. Plenty of water comes into play throughout the golf course as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Willow Run's back nine boasts one of the most challenging par 4s in Ohio, the 13th. The green on this tricky hole is fronted by a meandering creek.

Not long but nice layout.
The course played tougher than its 6200 yardage. The rough was thick and the greens hard and fast. Need to be in the fairway to score decent. Fun course pace of play was great . Only draw back was a few tee boxes were uneven and difficult to find level spots. I will be back it was the best value I've had in quite some time.
I lost my ball, again and again and again
I wasn't expecting much considering how brutal the whether has been, I keep remembering that song in my head, "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with" I tried to love this golf course but, had several beers, applied the beer goggles but still couldn't seem to find it. High fairway grass, or ground hogs stealing them but I kept loosing my balls. We were told to stay on the cart path but they must of hired the city of Columbus to re-pave the cart paths because there were pot holes everywhere, I spilled my beer numerous times. The place seems rundown, 7 years ago I really enjoyed playing here, what happened?
The course is an excellent condition.
Course was in excellent condition and pace of play was fantastic.
Solid golf course
This is a good course which offers challenges but is fun to play. Offers great rates and consequently a golfer on budget has opportunity to play more than at a high price course.
Forgotten Gem
Course is a lot of fun to play. No longer visible from Rt 161, as it used to be. Seems like a find. Not a championship course, but very playable. A fair amount game is required, especially on the back nine. Clean and friendly.
Good Golf at a great value!
After the winter and spring we have had I was impressed that the greens were in good shape. Fairways were getting green and the course was good if you hit it where you were suppose to. Only had a few wet spots, but it is April in Ohio.
willow run 3-19-2014
course in decent shape with all the recent rain and snow. It was cart path only . ground was soft and lost balls in fairway only because course was soft.great course when dry but it was first time out for year .Very good value for this time of year
Course was in good shape & not busy
Some of the tees are closed for winter recovery but greens held & rolled good. Lost couple of decent shots in the leaves. We played 18 in about 2.5 hrs. but started on back nine since there was a wait on #1.
I enjoy playing here and the staff is friendly.
I will recommend this course to others and definitely play here again next year.
great greens were very fast
nice course for the money had great greens were very fast
play was good
Beautiful in the fall!
What a great value. Course is in good condition. Beautiful layout.
Nice with one exception
The course itself was great condition. The only bad part was the cart path. It's in desperate need of resurfacing, but as far as play goes the course was in very good condition.
This course has come a long way
I have played this course for many years and the improvements that have been made to this course are paying off. The greens were smooth and true. The fairways are getting much better. It's not the hardest course I've ever played but it is challenging. Nice way to spend 4 hours.
Tree locations
Several fairways blocked by trees. I drive the ball very straight, but found myself in the rough (dirt) a lot because of trees placed in the middle of the fairway, 175 yards down the middle. Not really upset with this, but thought my feedback would be listened to.
Fairways need a lot of attention
Played there twice in the past month. The fairways are in terrible shape. Lots of bare spots and hard as concrete. The greens have good grass but are very hard. You cannot stick a shot on the green. Shots don't even leave a divot. Cart paths also need a lot of attention. Have played there a lot over the years and this is the worst I have ever seen it. Other guys in our group won't go back even at the cheap price we played.
Twilight deal
My husband and I golfed 18 for $16 each at a special twilight rate. Great deal!
worth revisiting
Nicely laid out course, however the fairways had several dead spots and there were several parts in the rough that were more dried dirt than grass. Aside from those patches, it is a very nice course. lay out is good.
Still a great course.
This course fell off my radar somehow, so I hadn't played here in many years. When I saw them on GolfNow, I took the opportunity to come back, and I'm really glad I did. The course is in outstanding condition, and it's every bit as challenging as I remembered. The greens and fairways are perfectly maintained. I completed in three hours because I played alone, and was on the course early.
Good course to play for the price.
Course was in good shape, although the fairways could use some more attention. Overall, I would recommend playing this course.
Good course. Horrible staff.
Second time I've had an incident at this course. We were a foursome of minorities and we all felt discriminated against. The first outing we we stopped at the turn and accused of only paying for 9 holes when we clearly paid for 18.
This time I had to show visual confirmation that I paid even though I gave him my confirmation number showing I had prepaid. Then we were accused of slow play at the turn again (same guy from the first incident) and were forced to let the group behind to play through even though we completed our round in a timely fashion considering the capacity on the course. I will not return to this course again and it's a shame because we all enjoy the course layout.
