About
Windmill Lakes Golf Club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state and is definitely the top golf course in northeastern Ohio. Located in Ravenna, it is the home course for the men's and women's golf teams at Kent State, which is only six miles east of the club. The large, undulating greens are the layout's defining feature. The greens also have a reputation for being some of the best-maintained in the area, allowing them to roll fast and true. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough also boast the same great conditions. More than 50 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the golf course and there are seven lakes that provide water hazards. The Windmill Lakes layout, which measures to just under 7,000 yards, only has two par 5s but there are several long par 4s that demand accurate drives and strong iron play.

Tough Track
Beautiful golf course, I can see why Kent State uses it as their home course. It's the kind of course that you need to play a couple times to get the hang of it and figure out where you CAN'T miss certain shots. The greens look fairly tame from 125 out but once you stand on them you realize how punishing they can be.
Another underrated aspect of this course is the routing and terrain. It's a strong, challenging course that you can actually walk.
Small tip: don't miss long and left on #1.
Windmill Lakes
Great course, can be long. It requires a good tee shot as there are a number of medium to long par 4's. Course is well maintained , although there were 2 greens that needed some attention particularly hole number 9.
Golf
Great course in great shape. Electric carts with distance to green make the round more enjoyable.
cart keys?
Had to wait for cart keys. 12:16 tee time, didn't go off until 12:32 and we were all right on top of each other because we were all waiting for carts. It was a bit of a cluster. Better prep would have prevented that. Also, the driving range was closed. One of my group got there early to warm up and was unable. If the course is open, the driving range should be open.

Awesome course! Awesome customer service! Staff was very professional! Nicest pro shop I have ever been in with great deals and great selection! Carts have GPS and guide book mounted in them showing a full page color layout of each hole with yardages, hazards, etc. Very nice touch especially if you are playing for the first time! Will definitely be playing this course a lot more. Great value!
Great time with client
I met my client on Father Day 4 years ago at Windmill Lakes. At least 4 times a year we will go back and play it because it is a great course and very challenging from the green tees, especially if you hook the ball. The course was in great shape except the greens on 9 and 10 had some kind of fungus.
Great fall golf
Have always loved this course for the layout and the need to use all your clubs. Very impressed with the lack of leaves in play considering the time of year!

Good Condition
I have played this course for many years. I have to say it is always in good condition.
This course is impeccably manicured and the GPS works as it should!
This is absolutely one of the best golf experiences in the Ohio region! From the tee boxes to the fairways to the greens, everything is the way you would want it to be! I would not hesitate to recommend this course to ANYONE! Regardless of what price you wind up paying, it is well worth it. The GPS is a bonus, and it works in a no frills way that is just right! All that is lacking for such a first rate place is a better dining experience.
Ohio's hidden gem!
This golf course is one of the very best public golf courses in Ohio. The course is clean and well taken care of by the staff. The pro shop is just awesome, great deals all around. A must play golf course for any golfer in northeast ohio.
Great staff to go with a very nice course.
First time playing this course and was not disappointed. Course was in great shape and played a little longer than the yardage stated. Greens held on the par3's & second shots . Greens could have been cut a little shorter and didn't break as much as you think. Nice sand in all of the traps. Watched my playing partners hit out of several. Wasn't in any today. Decent driving range and practice putting green. Now the clubhouse has just about everything you could want to play this great game of golf. Sets of clubs, clothing, balls, etc. Have sale on golf shoes right now just if you need a pair or two. Overall I had a great day with one of the staff members thanking us for coming out to play as we finished up our round. Will be back !!!!

Wildmill Lakes
Course does not drain well, wait till course is dry to play. Much nicer course when dry, waste of good money when wet, takes a day or two to dry out.
Wonderful experience
A few buddies and I were in town for the Bridgestone and wanted to find a nice course to play. Well, we found it! Only $20 for a course that we would be willing to pay $45. Great course!
Bring Every Club In Your Bag
Love Windmill Lakes. Classic course, love the fact that there is such distance variety with the tees. 6950 + yds from the tips and 6100 from the whites and blues are ate 6500. So really provides the solid differences to match up guys with different play levels. Course was in fantastic shape, greens ran pure. Just a solid golf course, no hidden traps or corny dog legs, its all right in front of you.
Great views
Greens were cut well course had a lot of standing water bunkers were well drained by holes but a few fairway bunkers had water
