About
Windmill Lakes Golf Club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state and is definitely the top golf course in northeastern Ohio. Located in Ravenna, it is the home course for the men's and women's golf teams at Kent State, which is only six miles east of the club. The large, undulating greens are the layout's defining feature. The greens also have a reputation for being some of the best-maintained in the area, allowing them to roll fast and true. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough also boast the same great conditions. More than 50 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the golf course and there are seven lakes that provide water hazards. The Windmill Lakes layout, which measures to just under 7,000 yards, only has two par 5s but there are several long par 4s that demand accurate drives and strong iron play.

Great course, slow play.
Bring your "A" game here. Numerous tough holes, enormous undulating greens. A true test of your ability. The downside this day was one slow group leading to a 5 hour round. Two holes open aead of them and should have been told to pick up and move forward. Other than that, a worthwhile experience.

Great course...maintenance was perfect, challenging golf, but perfect fairways and greens...highly recommend!

Staff and course were both exceptional and made for a great experience
From the moment we walked into Windmill Lakes our foursome was treated like we were members. Desk personnel were professional and polite. Our starter took time to layout the course rules in a kind and friendly fashion. All fairways were crosscut and the greens were fast and true. Every tee box was flat and well seeded. On my way out I told the pro shop attended that I just started to enter my scores in the GHIN system and was not sure about what the actual numbers stood for on my iPad. The gentleman walked me through every question I had and answered them all.. If you haven't had the pleasure to play here your missing out on a great golf experience.

Great geal with 18 and lunch at the turn. Starter was amazing and gave a great explaination of course and all the cart gadgets. Very friendly. Cant wait to go back. No wonder it was voted best course in Ohio!
Well maintained and greens are super. Fair test for players of all skill levels. I can see why the KSU golf team makes this course their home.
The staff is friendly and cordial. Pro shop has it all and at competitive prices. Will return often- Good deal at twice the price

NE ohio finest
I have been playing Windmill Lakes for over 20 years. One thing that never changes is the condition of this track. Always as good as it gets. The greens are always perfect. Not super fast but will hold a 4 iron from 190 yards. The pro shop is the best in the Midwest bar none.. I have bought my last 10 pairs of golf shoes here for at least half off. The tee boxes are always mint and a the fairways perfect for a public course. If you never had played here you are missing one of the best courses in the whole state of Ohio.

One of the best in the area
Windmill Lakes is without a doubt one of the best public courses in northeast Ohio. The greens are huge, and they use a grid system for pin placement. The fairways are very well-maintained. I recommend this course to everyone I know.

IPLAYED THERE PROBABLY 20 YEARS AGO AND WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISE THE EXCELLENT CONDITION THE COURSE IS IN.ALSO SURPRISE TO LEARN THEY DO NOT HAVE SAND CONTAINERS ON THE CARTS. REASON BEING THIS IS THE REQUEST OF THE COURSE SUPERINTENDENT. FAIRWAYS AND GREENS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Great course, excellent layout.
This course is always in great shape. The greens rolled very nicely. The only warning would be to avoid this course when it has rained alot in the past few days. It doesn't drain that well so the fairways will be very mushy and most likely it will be cart-path only.
Great course, great course, fabulous condition
I've played at Windmill lakes multiple times over the past couple years, and it never disappoints. The staff were great, the course was absolutely beautiful, and I love the gps in the cart with the little booklet. I highly recommend this course to a moderate - good player. A little difficult for beginners, but it was worth the $25

A very good and challenging layout, Windmill Lakes has water in play on a number of holes, strategic bunker placements, and demanding greens.
