About
Windmill Lakes Golf Club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state and is definitely the top golf course in northeastern Ohio. Located in Ravenna, it is the home course for the men's and women's golf teams at Kent State, which is only six miles east of the club. The large, undulating greens are the layout's defining feature. The greens also have a reputation for being some of the best-maintained in the area, allowing them to roll fast and true. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough also boast the same great conditions. More than 50 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the golf course and there are seven lakes that provide water hazards. The Windmill Lakes layout, which measures to just under 7,000 yards, only has two par 5s but there are several long par 4s that demand accurate drives and strong iron play.

Avg course not as good as people say
Since its kind of a swamp area there are some low spots that always accumulate water. Have played a dozen times but not a course I would pay a lot for, plus its a pretty far drive for me. Greens are usually pretty good and the driving range is usually beat up. IT does have a great PRO SHOP.
This course is a challange!
I would recomend this course to anyone who's looking to test their skill level. The course is in fantastic condition with it's sweeping fairways and quick well manicured greens.

Might have been the best "valued" course I've played all year.$18 w/ cart. Very little leaf issues, course in very good condition and some of the best greens around. Remember this was November 21st.

This is a great golf course no matter what your handicapp.....as good as ANY golf course in NE OHIO public and private. Plus...it had the best pro shop and BEST prices as well.

I liked fairway green and GPS on the cart. But there were too much leaves.
It was a great golf experience.
Had guests in from out of town. It was their first dose of NE Ohio golf. They were truly impressed. It was an awesome fall golf experience. The course was in emaculate condition. Sunshine, 63 degrees and perfect course condition. Thank you Windmill Lakes. Keep up the good work. KRW
One of northeast Ohio's best public courses
I have been playing Windmill Lakes for years. The course is always in great condition and is a great test of skill. The pro shop is top notch and the staff is knowledgeable. Beautiful big greens roll true. Definitely in the top ten in the area.
Awesome course, The BEST staff but slow play.
I played WL for the 2nd time on 10/13/12. The course is simply one of the best public courses in the state of Ohio. The fairways, greens, layout etc. are all great! The price was better than many inferior courses. The only bad thing I can say was that the pace of play was painful. It took 5 hours to play 18. The staff was apologetic but it didnt change the fact that 5 hours to play 18 is unacceptable. I will say that the first time I played at WL, earlier in 2012, slow play was not an issue and we finished in under 4 hours. So this may be an isolated situation. I dont play there enough to know though. I will say this...I like the course/price/staff so much that I WILL be back. Its too good of a course to not play it again.
Great course and first class pro shop
Long course - only 2 par 5 holes - par 70. Pro style bunkering. Large, undulating greens with many pin positions. Most holes appear straight but have subtle doglegs.
This course is one of the best!
This is one of my favorite courses to play. Each hole is visually appealing and "fits my eye". This course displays an excellent example of maximizing it's yardage by the challenging greens. From tee boxes to greens the course is manicured perfectly. The range provides practice areas for every shot shape. The clubhouse is second to none for equipment & apparel; the staff is friendly and courteous.

Course is in great shape. The track is long and strong from the blues. You'd have to be a beast to play from the tips. It is a true test of golf, one I would guarantee you'll enjoy.
Nice Layout
I have played this course many times - love the layout, challenging from the first hole and usually ABOVE good condition.
Pro shop has great value for all inventory.
Generous landing areas for a well tree lined golf course. GPS system helped to keep pace of play moving for us 1st time to area golfers.

Course was in country club shape. Guest that we took with us were in complete awe. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The club house was fully stocked and with many great bargins.
