Miami Shores Golf Club
About
Donald Ross designed Miami Shores Golf Club in 1949. Since then, the course has had the front greens renovated in the 70s and the back nine's were updated in the 90s, but the best features of the original design have been carefully preserved. The municipal golf course covers 130 acres but it is seemingly short at just over 6,200 yards, a characteristic of older courses. The classic layout has fairways that are straight and offer some room for error, but there are stands of mature trees situated throughout the course that golfers will have to contend with. If you are used to playing longer, more modern layouts, Miami Shores provides an interesting contrast that is also a challenging but fair test. The course's affordability is also an appealing factor.

Straight Forward
Well maintained and straight course. Not a ton of character but you will do well if you hit it straight.
Pro shop guy needs work
Course on good shape, no problem there, it was before we got out on the course, u had an issue. First , when I arrived and started to check in, I told the guy behind counter that I had a digital golf pass coupon, he said we don't accept them, we use golf now. I said yes you do, there is a paper on the wall behind him with the company logo. Then I had to walk him thru the process of using the 2 for 1 coupon, we were in the pro shop , no lie, 10 to 15 minutes waiting for him to do the math. 2 for 1, 2 carts and a green fee, not that hard.
Course in good shape, had a good round after that, just frustrated at beginning
Great Course, Slow Play
I thoroughly enjoy the course. The pro shop staff is friendly and they have a descent bar area. They do seem to be always running slow. I played 15 holes in 4 hours and had to leave.
Fall Golf
Course is in great shape for late fall, greens recovered from being aerated and roll true and fast. Course is short and greens are it's best defense. Ken always makes you feel welcome.
Nice Course
A decent course that is fairly simple and straight forward. Good course to practice your game. A small amount of water comes into play. Course is fairly busy, i was placed in front of a league atleast when i played. To sum up the course, it would be a driver-wedge type course. Will play again.
A course everyone will love!
MET TWO NEW FRIENDS HAD A GREAT TIME, WILL TRY AND BOOK MORE OUTINGS!
Miami Shores Friday
Great course, in good shape. Like the layout.
Miami Shores is in excelent condition.
One of the best days I have had on a golf course.
Wide open course.
Cost $20 to walk 18, which seems a little steep for a mediocre course. The greens rolled fairly true, but some of the pin positions were questionable. It was very dry on the day I played and some areas of the rough and fairway were pretty baked out. Slow pace of play and nobody seemed interested in letting a single play through.
That being said, the course is pretty wide open and completely flat. I would probably only play if I got a deal on the price, as there are nicer courser in the area.
Nice course
Nice course, greens are always in excellent shape. Staff very friendly.
Flat and wide open!
Miami Shores is a great course to go to. Wide open, only 1 hole with water (not counting the river). Great course to score on, if you're an above average player play from the blue tees, beginner golfer play from the white. Always a good time at "the Shores"
Good, Easy Course
The course was in great shape, and was enjoyable even though it was not as difficult as I'd like. The weather was very poor which allowed for us to play a quick round with not many other golfers on the course. I will be playing again when the weather is nice!
Good City Course
Miami Shores is a good city course. I've played plenty of city courses and Miami Shores is one of the better courses in the area. The course is fairly easy to play, not much trouble (one water hole). Great course to walk (very flat). The clubhouse is very old school, but nothing wrong with that. Food prices were very good (hot dog and pop for $3.75). I think $27 for 18 w/cart is an average price (GolfNow Rate) anymore and it's not worth it in my opinion.
Overall Miami Shores is a good course for the average player looking to learn and enjoy the game.
Good beginner course
Overall the course was in decent shape. Pace of play was very slow. I am not the best golfer in the world and shot a 75 here. Not too many hazards but greens rolled true. Perfect course for the first round of the year or a beginning player.
