Beautiful day on a well taken care of course.
Coppertop is a very nice course. Course lay out is challenging yet not too difficult. The green ran fast but true. Some hole placements were head scratchers. Rough was thick, but don't hit in the rough, LOL.
Other then that, very peaceful, well-manicured course. Plus, the great weather was the exclamation point for the day. In by 7 out by 11.
US Open greens for weekend golfers
Holes are mostly straight with narrow fairways. A decent drive leaves a short iron into most par 4s. The greens are smallish and crowned. Several times I thought I had pitched or lagged perfectly (I'm talking the ball just crept past the hole) only to see the ball pick up speed and roll off the green. I recommend not flag-hunting and instead go for the middle of the green. Still a fun day at the course.
Fantastic golf course, no gps carts anymore but still worth the money
golf cart
The staff did not clean the golf cart. When i got my golf cart it was full of trash. So i took it back and look for anther golf cart. Did not find no luck because all of the golf carts was full of trash.
Track
The course layout is good, the maintenance workers are rude and the greens weren’t cut and the holes look they have been in the same place for years. On all of the cups the edges were rounded and overgrown. Every time you went to grab your golf ball out of the hole you got a grass scrub on your hands.
Excellent course, Great price
Kudos to the new owners for reinvesting into this course. Entire course grounds in nice shape for this early in the season. Greens were groomed well and fairways in nice shape.
Copper top Review
Very nice & challenging course! Well maintained! Loved the view as we were coming down the 18th! We will definitely play Coppertop again!
slow
Everything about this course is very good. Except,
Every time we play there they double tee the back nine and we have to wait on every shot. We will NOT ever play their again.
Coppertop 6.11
Have played this course many times in the past but not in the last 5 years.
The course conditions were much better than I had remembered!
Great day of golf.
Will definitely return.
Great Value
I play this course regularly. The new management is trying to keep up with the course under the weather conditions in Ohio. Staff is great, friendly and helpful.
Although they need to work on the bunkers, most greens a medium size and balls hold up if you aim to the center of the green, otherwise, slopes will push your ball of the green. The pace of play is typically fast (although it may be because we play early afternoon).
We definitely recommend this course.
Got double booked
Our teetime got double booked and they only gave us an hour warning that they moved our tee time back 1.5 hours which didn't work for our group. Teetime should never have been double booked.
Decent course no markers
If you golf this course you need to bring a range finder. On every hole you will not know your distance. There are no markers or gps systems. Everything is a raw guess. The course was nice but do not believe the distances on your card from the tee box. Also there was no starter so the line piled up pretty quick on the first tee. Other than that it was a great course for the money 16.00 for 18 and a cart.
Always a challenge
Changes to staff and amenities have this course looking a little less polished. Hopefully the transition by new management will not spoil it's qualities.
Not good compared with previous visits
We learned that the course was "cart-path-only" when we tried to cross the first fairway - the golf cart gave a beeping alert and stopped. After we finished, one of our group asked if there was any notice of the cart rule and the cashier pointed to a small sign at the front desk. We had not noticed that sign and were not told.
Pace of play was OK for about 7 holes and then it slowed to a crawl. We would have been there until dark to finish 18, so we quit after 10.
Finally, the GPS display on one of the two carts our group used did not work.
Slow play
Followed the worst group of golfers in history. The 18 holes took 5 hours 15 mins. Would like to see more attention paid to these type of golfers. They clearly should have let us play through and no ranger monitoring the course and pace of play. Otherwise, Coppertop never disappoints.
nice day
good course, enjoyed playing here on a beautiful day
