Manakiki Golf Course
        About
Named after a native American word for maple forest, Manakiki Golf Course's defining feature is the abundance of maple trees that line the winding fairways. The course is a classic Donald Ross design. He incorporated a variety of challenges including tricky doglegs, water hazards, up-and-down holes, and two canyon holes. The holes themselves also cover a range from short to long and tight to open. Golfers should prepare themselves for a bevy of uneven lies, but the dramatic elevation changes also guarantee some scenic views throughout the golf course. There are also sand traps but their placement and number were thoughtfully considered to make Manakiki G.C. challenging but still playable. It is popular for this reason but also because it is one of the best rounds in northeast Ohio you can find for under $50.

Not Informed
Bought 2 t times for manakiki. When I get there, we are advised that they are a nine hole course. Irrigation construction on front nine. Hour drive for nine holes. Then the greens were aerated, terrible. We make the turn if we wanted eighteen we could wait in the line for back nine. Conditions I should be advised of before I reserve my round..
Great Public Course
Great public course. For how much it has rained, I was impressed with how well it was drained. It is a fun, hilly course. It is in a great area and very scenic.
Great staff.
Wonderful coarse in great shape. Excellent staff that take pride in there job.
Cleveland’s course review
I am a single digit handicap who was once scratch, now about an 8-9.
Manakiki: Fantastic - greens were PURE and perfect. Good shot values with a variety of resistance to scoring….. just an outstanding design in excellent condition.
The strange thing were the patrons — you would think this draws great players but most I saw did not belong on a test of golf like this. Beginners who weren’t in golf attire and couldn’t reasonably play this tough a test. ( to be honest it looked like they mailed out vouchers for free golf to rough sections of town …. At $50ish a round you’d think you’d get discerning golfers opposed to those who need lessons and range time)
I played, what I thought were cleveland’s best on a short golf trip and
Ranking them I’d say
1) Manakiki
2) sleepy hollow
DISTANT 3rd
3) fowlers mill
Manakiki and sleepy Hollow - both fantastic….. very comparable- I would simply give the edge to Manakiki, because their greens were in much better shape ( firm- fast / true )
Fowlers mill was AWFUL - a swamp - not sure how this course gets its high praise - hated it.
Great Shape
Everything was in great shape. Greens were perfect but very tough
Tough layout and great conditions for a metro parks course
Course this tough needs a driving range but great time. Played tips and shot 76 as a 3.4 handicap. Very tough test.
Fun course. Too slow.
I love this old school course, but for the money it's too slow with folks playing way too slow.
Great course
Beautiful Donald Ross course. A tough test, but course is in great shape and really enjoyed my time here. Would recommend for anyone to give it a god, very beautiful and fun to play.
Not bad
Pace of play didn't make it for an enjoyable experience. Course on the other hand was in good condition.
