About
Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course in Willoughby is a player-friendly course that is open year-round. The classic design has appeal for low and high handicappers alike whether you are a beginner who wants some practice or a scratch golfer looking for a casual round. The front nine is relatively flat but the terrain gets more challenging on the back nine. There is also a creek that wanders across the back nine, coming into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal throughout the golf course but it's strategically placed. The hole you need to watch out for is the par-4 15th. This challenging 435-yard hole is Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course's no. 1 handicap hole. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and practice putting green available.

Good condition
Haven't played this course in a few years...but today the course is in good condition. Bunkers were hard, needs some sand added or fluffed.. other than that, conditions were good...
Slow pace
Good course, and staff. I didn’t finish my 18 due to being on the course for almost 6 hrs.

Fair layout, course in excellent condition
Live out of town, played this course 2 years ago, course in much better condition this time around, well kept muni. Course not too difficult, a little tighter on the back nine. Pleasant round, good pace of play.

Fun course
Great condition. Fairways and greens. Need to repair paths, so rough riding in cart.

Nice metroparks course
This is not a challenging course, but it has challenging holes. It is a fun course. Had a great time playing. The back nine is a little more challenging than the front nice. Open course is forgiving except A free narrow holes that presents some challenge. It’s walkable and not too hilly. I recommend it

Let’s do it again!
It’s been years since I’ve played here and I was presently surprised on how nice the golf grew into a tighter and more demanding tee ball with all of the homes on the course! The three of us played 18 holes in three hours and it was 75° outside, the course good shape and the greens were even better shape!
We’re actually looking forward to playing Lost Nation very soon!

Awesome
Great course. I live 20 minutes from it and I can’t believe I had never played it before. Probably would not be real challenging for a low handicapper, but I play off a 20, so it was perfect for me. Course was in EXCELLENT shape for Cleveland getting hit with 6” of snow 4 days ago. Hats off to the grounds crew!

Like a private club
Last few years this course has outdone itself. Hope the players do their part and repair ball marks etc. thie only thing i did not like is $14 head for single carts. Most courses let you split the cost.

Fantastic reconditioning needs to be finished
The work that has been put into Lost Nation over the past 5 years has been fantastic. The fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Unfortunately someone forgot to put sand in the traps and while they rack the dirt up to appear like sand, it is not sand and is only 1 inch deep. Putting sand in the traps would be a capstone move to finalize a great restoring of this course. At at the end of the day, how much could a few truck loads of sand cost? Do this and it is a 4.5 star course. Don't do it and it remains 3.5.

Unfriendly Staff
Lost Nation Municipal GC is a convenient, easily accessible and well maintained course that is close to home and reasonably priced. Due to this, I make it a point to play the course several times a summer.
Unfortunately, in every instance I have had a poor experience with an single employee. Myself and other players in my group been sternly chastised several times for not being completely familiar with course rules (ie no drivers on the driving range). Most recently, me and another player had arrived 5 minutes prior to our scheduled tee time, and were ready to tee off at our allotted time. We were told we are “about to lose our tee time”, and rushed to get off the tee, just to be put behind a slower group of 5 players, impacting pace of play.
Most of the staff is friendly and accommodating however it’s clear this gentleman has a small amount of authority that he wields without prejudice.
Unfortunately after several negative customer service experiences I have decided not to patronize this course in the future. I am much happier making the drive to Hemlock Springs, where they seem to appreciate your business and do not have an attitude that it is a privilege to allow you to play their course.

Course has continued to improve
Play the course often. The improvements made over the last several years are obvious and well executed. Course is a fair test for both low and high handicap players When using the correct tee’s. Easy course to walk. Affordable rates, and friendly staff make for an enjoyable day.
Quiet & Friendly
Greens were aerated, but I knew that going in. Starter put me on the back, which was nice and quiet. Very friendly staff.
