Good condition

The range is bad, and the pace of play is terrible

Fall colors everywhere and nice elevations are present throughout the course.

haven't played here in a few years and forgot what a good lay out it is except for the 10th hole. bring a few extra balls in case your swing is erratic the day you play.

Course layout was excellent and challenging. Greens and tee boxes need some work but overall not bad.

Staff was friendly and pace of play was 4:15, pretty good for a holiday. Would definitely play again.

The forward tees are just over 5,900 yards. most of the par 5's are over 500 yards and uphill.

Some of the par 4's are almost 400 yards so this is not a course for most women.

Some of the fairways were in bad shape and so were a few of the greens.

Played here twice in the past few weeks- really is a nice, challenging and fair course. If you can get on for $60 or less, I think it's a pretty good deal.

Some of the tee boxes were in roughy shape- weedy, uneven, divoted, etc. And some greens were a little beat up- lots of unrepaired ball marks... Seriously people, how hard is that to do?!

But I really do like the course, and both times it was basically empty, done in under four hours both times. Maybe it's a bad sign that nobody's playing it, but I'll take it.

Played this course a year or two ago and remembered the condition of the course being really good. Played last week and the course was not in good condition. That said, they have a decent price for twilight so it's ok for the price.

First time playing this course nice layout fair but challenging

Challenging course for any golfers.

Nice course. Fairly expensive ($90/person).Fairways and green conditions not very good.

I play a lot of golf at a lot of great courses around the country. I've seen New York Country Club come up on searches and finally decided to play it. It's typically over $100 to play so I expected a great round of golf. I booked last minute and paid $80. I was surprised by the condition of the course. Crab grass on the tee boxes and fairways as well as greens that were in fairly poor condition for the price. I understand it's been hot and we haven't had a lot of rain but it was in worse condition than just about all of the county courses in Morris and Bergen County, NJ. The layout is decent but I wouldn't return for that kind of money. I'll spend it happily at Mansion Ridge or other courses in the area that are in far better shape. I wish they had their act together because it's a nice piece of property.

Course had a good layout, but is only in decent shape. Greens where the roughest part - fairways were better. A little expensive for what you're playing but still worth it.

The course itself was a nice layout, but the greens were very slow. Not what I was expecting from them. Once they get the greens in good shape I'll be back.

Course is great along with the staff.

Pros: Course in good shape, variety of hole design, greens very undulating providing a good challenge. Close proximity to Manhattan.

Cons: Four holes have severe elevation and are a bit of a joke. Some greens and quality of some bunkers could be in better shape. No walking option. A bit expensive, function of proximity to Manhattan

Went out on Thursday and was basically the only one on the course , pace of play was as fast or slow as I wanted . Course itself was in fine condition , fairways neatly trimmed and the rough was not to bad , very playable . Greens rolled nice , with a few tricky reads along the way . Sand traps were soft and well groomed . Holes 9 and 17 , severe uphill elevations , didn't care for those . Shot a decent 84 .

The greens were beat up. They were very bumpy and patchy. Where u play a golf course the most important thing is that the greens are well-kept . I played the course when I was in better condition than this time I was very disappointed. This is one of my favorite courses. Its not a good feeling when you hit a putt and its jumping and bouncing all over the place

I wanted to love this course...really i did. The clubhouse looked great, and the staff was friendly in greeting us. My first disappointment came at the range actually. For a "country club", i expected more from the range. We weren't able to use drivers, but what was worse was the quality of the balls. about 10% of the balls in my bucket were cracked! Here is the awesome thing about this course: the layout. It was challenging, but fair. Course forces you to think about ball placements and settling for appropriate lay-ups. Certain holes have crazy elevations, which made it really interesting. The disappointment was the quality of the course, particularly with the greens. I read some bad reviews about the greens, but i thought, " Its a CC, how bad can it be?" I hate to say this but some of greens i ran into were comparable to a typical NYC municipal course. They were small, inconsistent, patchy, and full of mall marks. I would like to return in the future though. Maybe not in the near future, but I think with some TLC, this place could be amazing. Until then...charging $80-$105 for green fees won't entice anyone.

Always love this course as it's very scenic and challenging! Greens have a little fungus - the first green is bad - but other than that it's in great shape! In the summer this course dries out easily so I would recommend playing soon after it rains and not during a long summer drought as fairways and greens feel like concrete.

Course is fair to play, rough is too tough though.
