Great shape!
I have played this course many times. It has never been a disappointment. But this year, with all of the rain we have had, it is in even better condition. Especially for mid August. The drive is still 45 minutes and the value is superb.
Really great course for less than $20
The whole experience is what you'd expect from a really expensive course. The tee boxes, fairway, and greens are all nice and watered. It's a great course that you can save a lot of money playing.
Great Course
I love this course. I've been to it several times and haven't had a bad experience yet.
Well Maintained
The course is 50 minutes from OKC but worth the drive. It is well maintained and the greens are in superb condition. The staff is friendly, the carts are like new and the course is reasonably challenging.
Slower than normal greens
I am always impressed with the quality of your facilities in years past. Tees and fairways are always and still in pristine condition. The greens however, rolled true as always, just thought they needed to be cut down to where they rolled consistent from green to green. Pretty hairy in most spots sure slows a ball down, hard to get a feel. Staff, as always, was top notch! Never an issue there.
BRING BUGSPRAY
Greens are in excellent shape right now. Got to play for $12 on GolfNow which is an insane deal for this place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have two gripes: $4 for a bag of 15-20 range balls is ridiculous; second gripe is that there are swarms of gnats, flies, and mosquitoes. Bugspray repels the mosquitoes, but it is no defense against the gnats. They are extremely annoying especially when they land on you when you are trying to hit. I hope the management has someone come spray the course to knock the bug population down some. This course is great and I will definitely be back to play soon!!
Only real downside was that at the clubhouse they were blasting the OSU baseball game over the megaphone, you could hear it throughout the entire course, it was very annoying, shouldnt have to hear a college baseball game being blasted while golfing. Like if I knew they were going to do that before hand I wouldnt have even came to the course.
this course is a very good play
Greens are in very good condition and overall a good play not very hard and long but a nice play
Nice Course
This is by no means a pristinely groomed country club course, but the fairways and greens were very well kept. We were able to get a deal for $20 total pp with cart. Great deal. Staff was friendly and we really enjoyed playing the course. We'll be going again.
Super friendly staff.
Having played the course many years ago with my son we decided to get out of the city and play it again. After the short drive up to Perkins we were greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful young man at the counter of the pro shop. After checking in, we began play and found the course in surprisingly good condition for this time of year. The pace of play was good for the first 9 holes then slowed considerably on the back nine. Still, as a twosome with my son walking we finished eighteen holes in a little under 3 1/2 hours. Very good when compared with the OKC courses for a mid-day, mid-week round. We will definitely go back!
Good, not great course
Played here two days in a row in late March. Wind was a factor, but not terrible. Greens were in great shape for this time of year. Fairways has sporadic grass, could use more. Layout was above average. Pace of play could have been better without the fivesomes playing ahead of me. Clubhouse was pretty nice, staff was friendly. Driving range was not good, but putting green was good.
Great course for the price
Positives: This course is great for its price, especially if you get a hot deal on GolfNow like my group did. We loved the layout, scenery, and overall playability of the course, and the pace of play was absolutely terrific.
Negatives: I know it is just general course maintenance but the greens were sanded heavily and aerated when we played so we weren't too thrilled about that (although they will be excellent once they're back to normal). The staff wasn't rude by any means but they didn't seem too eager to be at work either. If you plan on hitting range balls be prepared to pay $4 for a bag of roughly 20 balls.
Overall we will definitely be playing this course again once it warms up and the grass starts to get green.
Golf Club at Cimarron Trails Perkins OK
Friendly staff, good course to play. Some water hazard but if you play good no problem.
Pleasantly Surprised
My girlfriends had been telling me that this was a great course, so I finally talked my husband into going up to Perkins to try it out. First of all, it was a pretty drive and it only took 40 minutes from Edmond. We got there a little early and the guys in the pro shop told us we could start on #10 since the front nine was a little slow and the back was clear. It was like having the course to ourselves and we played really fast despite it being a very windy day. Since it is so early in the year the grass was still dormant but the greens were in good shape. We definitely want to go back after the burmuda fairways green up. Interesting and challenging layout with lots of water, but fun!
