Spring Hill Golf Club at Albany Golf & Event Center

About
Formerly known as Spring Hill Country Club, Albany Golf & Event Center dates back to 1959. Though the name may have changed, the classic design of the course hasn't. The golf course measures to just over 6,500 yards from the back tees. It may not be a lengthy layout but it's a fun round for beginners and advanced golfers alike, which is why it was chosen as the two-time host to the Oregon Open. The golf course was built on some of the country's most fertile land in a temperate location that allows year-round play. Strategically placed bunkers frame the greens and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. One of the most difficult holes, the par-3 17th, is a water hole. There is a lake that runs along the entire right side up to the green, which is also bordered by bunkers to the left.

Rude Staff
Alex the Assistant Pro was rude and non-sympathetic that we were hit into twice by the husband and wife twosome behind us that apparently snuck on without a teetime since they were members. There was literally 4 groups backed up on the 7th tee and Alex blamed Teeoff and Golf now as they "cannot manage online booking" They apparently cannot manage their local membership either not have the insight to not allow 6 twosomes in a row along with a tournament that ran late. Alex pretty much talked over me and took no responsibility nor offered any apology, solution, nor any type of compensation, as we were treated worst than public we were mere "Online Bookers" and members get the right of way. Poor customer service.
Our round at Springhill
The weather was perfect, warm with a slight breeze. This was a social round, three guys who have played mostly in the Salem area out for a bit different. The course was in great shape, just wish I could play well enough to really rate it’s difficulty ... it was plenty difficult for me, even though I pared three in a row. Enjoyable day. Will do again.

Not worth the visit
Very poor condition: (1)green plugging done too late in the year, (2)very poor greens not true and lots of equipment damage, (3) poorly maintained, (4) need to be careful of physical injury due to unexpected physical hazards, (5) due to poor condition many players don't attend to ball marks and tee/fairway divots, (6) club house availability is unpredictable! All a result of very poor course management!
In dire need of better management!
There currently isn't any restaurant facility, and it's my understanding from the members I was playing with, the club house management is rather poor and is blamed by members for not being to retain restaurant service.
It was also disappointing when we arrived at the 10th tee, the pro-shop had allowed 2 groups to tee-off in front of us, thus making us wait for 20+ minutes! And according to the members, this is common practice, especially when accommodating non-members who have paid for their round!
The course condition was also quite poor due to recent flooding. An event that, explained to me, occurs quite regularly this time of year!
Friday Oct 16
Great afternoon of golf.
played with 3 men from Salem.
Course is in good condition. Have played
here 9-10 times this summer, always
been a positive experience .
Fast pace and well manicured, but...
...the course was abnormally wet (fairways, rough, and greens all soft). I am not sure why because it hasn't rained much at all in the last several months. I had several plugged balls throughout the round -- good thing for "winter" rules. Overall, Spring Hill Country Club is a fun course with a great layout and a must play if you're in/near Albany...especially if they are offering more HOT DEALS!
Nice round
The staff was friendly. The course was in good shape. The greens were well groomed. All in all a good experience.
No computer no fun!
Very disappointed in the staffs capability or lack of to take cash for food and beverages because their computers were down, Really? Take out a pen and paper mark it down and take the cash! What a let down!
Mature course
Nice, old established course kept in good condition. Reasonably long with sand and some water hazards. Walkable but more fun to take cart and carry craft beer available in beautiful clubhouse.
Very nice course to play
My wife and I played what is known as "Spring Hill" to us. The course was in very good condition, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (except for the ever-present mis-hits, but that's not the course's fault!)
Tight fairways
Course was in great shape. First time players will have a little trouble on where to hit it, but will still like course.
Awesome Track
This was a great place to play!! Course in great shape but need some ball washers.
beautifull day
We had a 2:58 tee time. when we arrived a member was hammering the help at the desk, she wanted to be let out or placed some where on the course. The gentleman kept explaining it was full. He handles himself very professional and we started on time.
Ok course
My friend and I got paired with a couple of jerks and no way to separate from them. Don't go to this course unless you like to play with snobby people and you like to play a relaxed pace of play.
Great time! Great course!
This was the first time playing this course. Had a wonderful time!
Good course - snippy staff member
Nice course but somewhat snippy staff member. Paid for 18 w/cart but was teamed with another person who already had a cart. When I stated I had paid for 18 w/cart staff said in a pretty surly tone "That's what you're getting". That should be stated in their disclaimer. Fortunately, turned out to be a good day but, since the other person had paid for 18 w/cart he didn't get what he paid for either. Not enough to keep me from going back but, will consider other courses first. I will say, the last time I played there, the staff person (different one) was spectacular and went above and beyond.
Usually well kept
This time around they had just sanded the greens, the rough was long and had clumps of grass from mowing. It is the beginning of the season.
This course is usually very well kept and the staff and members are very friendly and helpful.
Great course.
there very slow
It's okay to play this area.but I won't not recommended to someone
