Spring Hill Golf Club at Albany Golf & Event Center
About
Formerly known as Spring Hill Country Club, Albany Golf & Event Center dates back to 1959. Though the name may have changed, the classic design of the course hasn't. The golf course measures to just over 6,500 yards from the back tees. It may not be a lengthy layout but it's a fun round for beginners and advanced golfers alike, which is why it was chosen as the two-time host to the Oregon Open. The golf course was built on some of the country's most fertile land in a temperate location that allows year-round play. Strategically placed bunkers frame the greens and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. One of the most difficult holes, the par-3 17th, is a water hole. There is a lake that runs along the entire right side up to the green, which is also bordered by bunkers to the left.

a gem in the willamette valley
well worth the trip from portland, eugene and salem.
very reasonable green fees for an extreamly maintained golf coarse!
Labor Day Weekend Fun
We had some family come in for Labor day and they wanted to get out and play some golf. We chose the Albany Golf and Event Center. The course was beautiful and had some challenging bunkers and long holes. The food at the 19th Hole was excellent. The proportions were large and the staff went above and beyond to make sure you were having a good time.
Great outing
Loved the coarse. Played right after a members tournament and the greens were cut close and fast, pin placement was equal to a pro tourney. A lot of 3 putts that day. Beautiful clubhouse and the staff was great. Well definetly be back....maybe the pin placement will be a little more friendlier for this 14HC.
true rolling greens
nice nice staff, course in good shape greens great, can't beat the price. we came from salem. for $26, 18 holes, power cart good golf. best price around.
Great round
First time playing this course and we were very pleased. Well maintained. Greens were awesome. Staff very friendly. Beautiful clubhouse. Definitely will play again when in the area.
Great course
Hadn't played this course since spring. Little different in the summer time. The fairways rolled nicely and allowed a better time. The greens were as fast and true as ever. Everything was in great shape.
Enjoyable Classic Course
Beautiful variety of tree lined holes. Used every club in the bag. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Taco Thursday on the patio in early evening topped off great experience. Will play again.
Nothing special, but OK course
Classis 1930s country club layout, mature trees line fairways, making for somewhat tight tee shots. Out-of-bounds very close and extensive on back nine.
Staff pretty damned indifferent.
Over booked.
Didn't tee off until 25 minutes past scheduled time. Course was really backed up and had to quit after 15 holes. Course was in great condition.
Great deal for a weekday
Hot deals made this an affordable course play. Course is in nice shape.
Great Time
We had a great time playing this course. The staff was friendly, the course was in great condition and the overall experience was exceptional.
Great Course
This is really a great course. Nice fairways, very nice greens, everything well kept. Will come back again. Too bad about the restaurant, Way to slow. Will eat on the way there next time. Waiter also the cook. REALLY!
Extremely well maintained course.
I usually don't judge a course by the type of round I had however, in this case, it just so happens that the round had a major influence on my mindset of this review. The front nine was tougher than I thought and because I hadn't figured out my mistakes till the back nine played tougher also. Although I played much better on the back nine, I didn't figure out my mistakes till about the 16th hold. I shot my best 9 hole round ever in my life on the back nine. I even birdied the par 5 that is touted as the toughest on the course. Overall an amazing day. I just wish the front nine went as well.
good course
I Will be back. Condition better than average sand bunkers excellent if you are hitting the ball well you will love this course
Great experience
I like the idea of 3 par 3's, 4's and 5's on each nine.
Great course - Great day!
From the time I got there until the time I left, it was great! I made use of their driving range but didn't get to practice on their chipping practice green because I ran out of time but it looked like a great place to practice my chipping. Fairways were in good shape and the greens were fairly fast.
Nice golf facility
This course was in excellent shape given the time of year and recent rainfall, and I've always enjoyed playing here. I do have a criticism, but it's one I would level at many courses. The greens are absurdly fast! Courses want us to play faster rounds, but their green speeds almost guarantee a lot of 3 putts. The greens were in very good condition, and are quite challenging enough without making them absurdly difficult for the average hacker.
Great Course
Greens were very fast and in good condition.
Not as wet as I thought it would be (good drainage)
What a great deal!!!
Very nice greens!
This course has a very nice look about it. Stately cedars and many mature trees lining the fairways. Still open enough to swing away but the trees will come into play if you are a little errant. Some water features, but most don't come into play. The fairways were well groomed and not too wet for winter play. By far the best part of the course were the greens. Subtle breaks, smooth rolls, and fairly fast for this time of year. With four sets of tees, all age and ability levels can enjoy this course.
Would definitely recommend playing!
