Golfer Reviews
Beautiful Shape!!
It's amazing how well this course is maintained. Even with the deluge of rain, this course is in great shape. The greens are in absolute perfect condition...running fast and as smooth as a billiard table.
Tip Top
The Reserve just bumped Heron Lakes Great Blue out of my 3rd favorite course spot. This course is immaculate. How do they have time to rake all 100+ bunkers so well? Yeah, it was a bunker haven. The fairways were wide and forgiving (must be why I hit so many), and the greens were faster than I've ever seen outside of Brasada Ranch in Eastern Oregon. Every staff member that I ran into was very pleasant and nice. The practice range was a bit small. It seemed there was only room for about 12 or so people. Other than that, I had one of the best golf experiences I've ever had. I cannot wait to get back to this course!
great greens. course was very playable despite recent rains
teed off early and pace of play was good. course was in great condition especially the greens which is always important. only cost $35 for round w/ cart from deal on golfnow.com. Play this course and you will be very happy that you did
Poor time managent.
I had a tee time of 3:09 Saturday. I was not able to tee off until 3:50 and was excessively waiting on holes 1 and 2. By the time we made the turn it was dark. The course was nice. And the staff seemed courdual but frustrated and apologetic. I did not get to play the back nine. Better course management may help. It was my first time at the reserve, so I'm not positive if this is a trend or just bad luck. I like to play it again, just make sure you start before 2 pm. Thanks.
The south course is in great shape, greens are true. Play was slow, waited pretty much every hole.
I played the North course a few weeks ago, South course is in better shape. Lots of bunkers. Fast greens. Love the south course.
Lots of Sand
The course can be challenging for someone who does not have a lot of practice in the sand. Its a well maintained and beautiful course. The only complaint was it got pretty backed up due to a tournament earlier in the day. However, the value was great!
Bunkertastic
We played the south course here and it was immaculately maintatined. There are a zillion bunkers on this course so you have to definitely do some course management. I will 100% play this course again.
Course is well maintained. Pace was a little low but there was a tournament on the other course so that may have hurt the pace.
I enjoyed the course and would definitely play again.
Lots of Bunkers
They are rebuilding a few bunkers now and filling in a few more. Standing on the 18th green I counted 10 sand trap rakes. Great course, but stay out of the 100+ bunkers!
Very nice course, well maintained and fun to play.
Very nice course, well maintained and fun to play.
Father's Day is not the time for a four hour round:)
Great course with a friendly staff. Great day, EXCEPT it was Father's Day and the round took over 5 hours. Some holes had a group on the green, in the fairway and two groups on the tee.
We did see Marshalls every once in while, but don't think even he could have sped up play. Would recommend the course, just not on Father's Day.......thankful the group I was with had a great sense of humor:)
great value
Great course for the price we paid. Course was in great shape. We played during the week so with carts the pace of play was sub 4 hours. Staff was friendly and treated us right!
Fun course with perfect fairways and greens. Tons of bunkers!
The course is in perfect condition. Very challenging but fair. Pretty cool to play a course that Arnie, Jack and Phil have all played on. Huge discount when purchased on golf now. Can't believe I only paid $55 for greens fees and a cart.
Classic, interesting, superbly maintained couse
Classic park-like design with the most sand I've seen on any non-beachfront course. Fun to play, with lots of variety - no two holes the same. Superbly maintained. Highly recommended, as is its companion, the North Course (which is completely different and equally fun).
course was not ready to play
While playing in June one would think that a resort course would be playing at its best but sadly this was not the case. The fairways were freshly mowed but grass clippings were everywhere. Also many of the sand traps were under repair. Not worth the money!!
Great layout in good condition
Great course, difficult, lots of interesting holes. Good condition. Price was much less than I would have expected for a course of this quality.
Mid May round
The Reserve is a great course to play when we are just coming out of the rainy season. Probably top 3 course in Portland area and top course when it comes to holding up under heavy rain. Course isn't necessarily worth normal fees but always offer a deal on Golf now and usually well worth it. Club house is amazing if staying after for a bite to eat or drink a couple beers is your thing.
Easy course to walk.
Greens were a little sandy
They plugged the greens about three weeks ago so they were a little slow compared to normal. Pace of play was really slow considering we teed off right after a tourney ended. But overall the course was in great shape.
