About

Holes 18
Type Public
Par 72
Length 7003 yards
Slope 124
Rating 71.8

Perfect Central Oregon rolling terrain fashioned into beautiful golf holes by designer Brian Whitcomb. With 7000 yards of breathtaking views and challenging golf shots Lost Tracks Golf Club defines the word golf.

While Lost Tracks Golf Club is located near the city of Bend, it has the feeling of quiet seclusion. The golf course is bordered by national forest land and carved out of a stand of Ponderosa and high desert pine trees with lava rock outcroppings, dotted with sparkling lakes, and seaside sand filled bunkers. Laid out on a softly rolling terrain the old style design, without the long walks between greens and tees, invite the golfer to walk the meticulously groomed and maintained fairways.

Lost Tracks design philosophy did not include a "signature hole" consideration. Many players may consider the 141-yard 16th hole a par 3 island green, with an old railroad dining car for a bridge, to be exactly that. However, with so many gorgeous holes to choose from, we will leave that up to you. Have fun!

6hr round

Lost Tracks is a very nice and fair test of golf. We decided to play on a Saturday morning at 9am. That was a big mistake. After spending 3hrs on the front nine waiting for every shot. We asked what the issue was. We were told a large wedding party was playing in front but would leave after nine holes. Maybe they did but it didn't help. We ended up canceling our afternoon round at another course and we finished just under 6 hrs. There were multiple fivesomes and a couple groups of six. No marshaling or on course play management. Plan on a painfully long round or play first thing in the morning.

Beautiful Course

This was our first time playing this course. We were suppose to ply 18 holes but right after we finished up the 9th hole, A lightning storm and heavy rains made it so we couldn't continue. We will go back again. Nice club house while we waited for the rain to stop.

Excellent round of golf at daybreak on a Friday

While on vacation in Sunriver, i got the opportunity to play Lost Tracks GC in Bend, OR. While Sunriver has four courses, all were $100+ and quite busy, so i decided to drive 20 minutes up the road and play Lost Tracks at the break of dawn on a friday. It was a pleasant surprise. Played the course in under 3 and a half hours, and was taking my time doing so. A 73-yr old golfer named Jim, who was enjoying his first day of retirement caught up with me on the turn, and we played the back nine together. The conditions were great, and the weather was ideal. The course is extremely walkable, yet designed in a way where you dont see other holes while playing for the most part. My only regret is getting a cart as it turned out to be completely unnecessary. The highlight of the course is the reclaimed railcar on #16 that acts as the bridge to the island green. Golfers from all over the country have left bagtags, business cards, and assorted memorabilia turning into a museum of sorts. Jim informed me that Lost Tracks is owned and designed by former PGA president, Brian Whitcomb, who clearly put his heart and soul into this course. I would recommend Lost Tracks to anyone who is in the area.

Needs work

The course is in the worst condition of any Bend courses in the same price range. The pins were not in the proper area as stated on the score card. The greens looked like no one had fixed a ball mark for weeks. The fairway bunkers were washed out. Many green side bunkers had grass growing in them. No one is filling divots in the fairways. Not even close to being worth the money, even at the hot deal rate.

Great track in a strong golf area

Lost Tracks is very good course in a beatiful part of Central Oregon with mountain views and ponderosa pine groves. We started at 3:20pm on a perfect weather day and played in under 4 hours. L.T. is neither a hard or easy course and has some very interesting, memorable holes. The condition was excellent. The couse is walkable but with the elevation of 1200m and moderate hills it is some effort to walk.. All in all a great golf day.

Love the layout

I play at Lost Tracks at least three times a year. Whenever I play in the Central Oregon area I make a point of checking for special rates and playing this unique course. The only problem is that every time...yes every time I reserve a tee time on-line there is confusion at check in. One year they would not honour the advertised rate until I showed them their website on my phone with the rate. There were ten of us on a golf vacation and at $20.00 difference each it adds up fast. The group in front of us had the same problem and paid the extra. One year the special was all you could play late in the afternoon but at check in we were informed that that deal was no longer valid. Out came the phone again with the web page proof. This year the person behind the desk couldn't find my Golf Now reservation/payment and tried to charge me the full price. Thank God a young kid stepped in and found the reservations and cleared things up. I have never overpaid the advertised price but it is always after much confusion and a small battle that I get what was promised. It is irritating to say the least and it takes at least two beautiful holes of golf before you wipe it out of your memory. It would be easy to say it was just me causing all the problems but I never have these problems at other courses in the area. Bottom line even with the hassles I keep coming back to play. It is that nice and that much fun to play.

Amazing Day

I have played this course many times over the years but this day was off the charts in every way. Perhaps all the planets were aligned or something but I also shot the best round of my life which just made it all that much better.

nice fairways but no yardage

I was walking so I did not have their GPS golf carts and I do not have a handheld yardage device. I found it difficult to determine yardage. The sprinkler heads did not have any information and no red, white or blue plates. The paved cart path has red, white and blue lines but frequently you are not by the cart path.

Definitely Worth The Money

It was early season conditions, but I have played this course during mid- to late-summer before and it was in excellent shape then. The condition right now is typical of courses in this region due to the harsh winter. The greens had just been punched and sanded and were bumpy as a result, but otherwise in good shape. The views on the course were great. We played 18 walking, then got a great re-play rate and played another 18 from a cart. The staff was awesome and the facilities are good.

Aerating greens

I really wish there was a better way for Golf Now to communicate with golf courses concerning aeration schedules. Some courses do put aeration alerts on their postings. It had been 4 years since we played here on our annual trip. When we arrived we were informed the front 9 was closed because they had just aerated the greens and we're getting ready to start the back 9. By the time we loaded our clubs and teed off. They were already on 10. So we went around again starting on 13. You could tell the young man in the clubhouse felt bad, and did give us a free golf cart. He was the ONLY good thing about this day

Spring Golf at Lost Tracks

Winter was a little harsh, but it's early yet for golf in Bend. The course stills shows some winter freeze burn, but that's to be expected in early spring. Only thing dissapointing was that after we paid our green fees, one person in our group hurt his back in the driving range and was unable to play, so just rode along. Staff offered a $20.00 refund, that's all; I'd have been happier with a rain check to be used later.

The staff is deplorable !

My son and I tried to play this course during the busy summer season. The staff here is rude, condescending, arrogant and completely self absorbed. They could not care less about your golf experience. Take your hard earned money elsewhere. I will never play this course again. They set up a hokey tournament at the expense of everyone else. We waited over one hour past our confirmed tee time to finally play. When I tried to complain, they basically told me they didn't care and shut up. I've played golf for over 35 years and the staff/owner at this club take the prize for the worst customer service ever. They have "lost track" of how to treat people. Stay away....

Boorish behavior

The management that runs this course is boorish, self righteous, and could not care less about customer service. We arranged a tee time and had to wait over 1.5 hours to tee off due to a mini tournament they were conducting. Their response to our complaints were to suggest we leave if not willing to wait. No apologies, in fact they were condescending and lacked completed concern. I will never play this course again. Take your business elsewhere in beautiful Central Oregon...Lost Tracks has certainly "lost track" of customer service...deplorable !

Great layout

Lost tracks is a fun course. The rail car hole, which is their signature par 3, is a lot of fun. I heard it was hit and miss on conditions but I guess I caught them on a good day. They weren't the most friendly/helpful staff but nobody was rude, persay, but a little entitled. Lucky for them the course, and views, outweigh the service.
