Say it ain't so!
Rivers Edge will be the first course to sell off land (for housing of course). Last time a course closed in central OR was Orion Greens in the 90's...as if anyone in Bend even remembers that course.
I always have liked the challenge and variety of layout. Course in decent shape, considering the hot/dry summer.
Not the best bang for your buck in Bend, but worth playing one last time! Back 9 scheduled to close for housing by next year.
Not worth $69 greens fee
The course is in bad condition and not worth the high cost of the greens fee. Our cart’s battery died 8 holes into our round. The course is apparently being sold to be developed into homes so it seems the owners don’t care to keep the course playable. Stay away from it.
Greens are awful
Apparently this course is going to be torn out for housing. The practice green is in great shape but on course were not maintained. The golf carts are very old and our parking break wouldn’t hold. Pace of play was great as there wasn’t anyone behind or ahead of us. Maybe the locals know it’s not in great shape. Course layout is interesting.
May golf
Golf here before they ruin the course with more development of more homes.
Played only 9 holes,Tough course
I had hoped to use a push cart and walk the course but there was not a cart available (first time I've ran into that), so I rented a power cart for an additional $17.
Played the course about 20 years ago and had forgot how challenging it is. Course was in good shape though.
May Golf
Excellent weather. Good day to plan. It’s sad to hear that this course won’t be here after next year. They are selling it and building homes.
Play while you can
We heard the back nine are going to be converted to home, so play 18 while you can!
Nice track
I’ve never seen as many gophers on a golf course in my life.
Hilly track with some blind shots here and there but fun ones too.
I found the greens a bit inconsistent.
I played it about 3 hours ….no one there. Teed off at 11:00 am
another great round at Rivers Edge
Paired with a couple of fun golfers.
Perfect weather and some golf to match?
Thanks
Rivers Edge
Course conditions are improving pretty well for early spring. Starter should have told us at the beginning that the back nine was closed rather than being intercepted by maintenance people on the 10 tee. Not a good value as such.. For walkers they still need a courtesy shuttle between 8th green to 9th tbox to keep pace with non walkers in carts.
Poor course conditions
A lot of spots on the course were greatly over watered and the turf was way to wet and there was actually standing water in some places. The greens were very rough.
Fun course!
First time playing this course, it's somewhat challenging but a very fun and beautiful course to play. Will definitely go back to play the 2nd time!
The course condition is great except the green surface. many brown spots and ball marks on the green.
Fun Course
A lot of up and down makes this a difficult course to walk. Beautiful views. Course in good shape with fast greens.
Course is not maintained well, and unbelievably noisy
Get on the first tee, and a green sleeper is working on the sprinklers. There are wet grass clippings all over the "fairway" it is am elevated tee box and your ball will stop in it's tacks on the fairway because it is so wet. As we are approaching the green for pitch shot, the sprinklers come to life and startle one of the players in her backswing. We get to hole two, and the green sleeper turns on a sprinkler between us and the fairway. Luckily none of us hit into the sprinkling area. The course was soggy be on almost every hole. They must not know how to irrigate properly, because it doesn't rain that much in Bend. The greens are pot marked, so it's a bumpy ride. Not only is it a mess on fairways and greens, but there is constant construction of new homes being built along the course, so be prepared for hammering and banging through the front nine. Then you hit the back nine, and they are moving earth and pile driving things into the ground, so now you have industrial banging, beeping of earth movers backing up, and other extremely loud noises. It was so loud that on the tenth green you could not talk to one another, you had to scream at each other. Now I understand that the course is not responsible for any construction that is being done by other entities, but maybe let us know that beforehand, or offer discounted rates. Another issue is the poor signage for where the next hole is. I believe it is going from hole eight to hole nine. You have to drive your golf carts across a busy road where cars are going 35 miles an hour, and you have to gun it at just the right moment to not get hit by a car. Then after you survive that you end up in a residential neighborhood and have to hope your going the right way to get to nine. Wt finally said enough with this course and all the noise and turned around after hole 13 and drove back through 12, 11, and, 10 and packed up and left. We will never play there again. Previous day, played Widgi Creek, lovely course, nice greens, and very peaceful. If you go to Bend, don't play Rivers Edge, Widgi is better by a long shot, and was cheaper too. Rivers Edge golf course is dead to me.
Challenging course with mountain views
Fantastic course layout, challenge and view. Although I am relatively fit for my age, I do not recommend walking this course unless you only do 9 holes. Considering all the precautions against COVID-19, the staff was friendly and helpful; but of course, facilities were not open. We also rented clubs but as a 68 year-old 5'2" female, a set of men's clubs with metal shafts did not help my round. Next time I will either bring my own clubs or not golf.
