Fun Course lay out Elevation Changes
Very good value for the money. I like elevation changes and this course has them. Good condition . definitely will play again
Nice round after long rainy winter
I did not expect to a good round of golf after a long rainy winter season. The course was relatively dry (still some mud off fairways and patches of rough areas) and very much playable. It was much better condition than I expected. Golfnow deal was great for a good round of golf. I recommend this course to anyone.
Rainy Day at Forrest Hills
The second time i have played FH. Greens were soft and medium to fast speedwise. Short course with tree trouble everywhere, quite a few hazards. Keep it in the fairway and birdies are there. Fun course, staff was nice.
great value...but....
Great value....but wish GN would have mentioned that the greens had been plugged and sanded.....had to find out when we arrived.
Great GolfNow value... nice fairways and greens!
For $10 (GolfNow hotdeal) this was a nice round. The greens and fairways are in very good condition for this time of year. The rough... not so much. But I suppose we shouldn't hit it there! They are watering greens and fairways regularly. The only complaint I have is that since it was 100 degrees, I took a cart and the cart paths are dangerous! One time my head hit the top of the cart when I hit a bump. Some paths are paved, but so old that the tree roots have pushed the asphalt up in dangerous ruts. Be careful if you ride! Clubhouse personnel were awesome. I would come back again.
Like an old dirty car that barely runs...
Unfortunately, we weren't warned that the world slow-play golf championship was being played ahead of us. No marshals anywhere so the "competitors" were free to very carefully line up each other's shots and putts, take eight warm up swings and walk slowly back to their cart after they hit into a tree or pond, whichever was closer. Seriously.. it took a full 5 hrs to play a course that really shouldn't take more than 3! Traps were filled with dusty sand, big divots and even an empty beer can.
This old car still runs, but it needs a lot of work...
Great fairways
Fairways were in great shape. The greens were good.
Relaxing
Nice medium challenge course. Very relaxing environment with some good hills and water play
Favorite course
Conditions were wxcellent, we had a great time, greens were perfect
Good golf
Found the course played average although it does have a couple of very challenging holes. Be particular about hitting over the hills...there is some water to be careful of but as long as you are aware of the hazards you'll do well.
Forest Hills
This is a fun course. Not overly challenging but you won't fall asleep either. Greens are getting better!!
Beautiful setting!
Course is in great shape. Carts (gas) could use some help.
Very good value!
We'll be back!
nice course but spendy
This course is pretty nice but has some drainage issues and is a bit pricey considering. Staff is wonderful though.
Soggy Hills
Very wet, but that is not a surprise. They did not inform us that that there is about 5 temp tees and a flooded area that we need to traverse. Greens in great shape.
Forest Hills
Walked the blues (6303/69.9/123) in 3h, 15m on a Sunday afternoon playing as a single on a prepaid GolfNow deal of $30. Beautiful day to play golf, very little wind, sunny in the low 70's. Did not wait a shot AD and never was within a hole of another player. Hard to comprehend playing a Sunday afternoon round as a single after playing in Southern California for 30+ years, playing 4 1/2+ hour weekend rounds with three foursomes on a tee waiting to hit! The course is 20-25 miles west of downtown Portland out among farmland. It is surrounded by a couple of roads that wind around the course. There are a few houses, but you are pretty much out away from things. The layout is a little confusing if you have not played here before. Numerous holes zig and zag from one green to the next tee, I played here last year and was still looking around a few times to find the next tee. William & Frances Bell design built in 1927, so it's a no frills older course. A few tight holes, but most of your trouble here is with big, mature trees, not water or OB. These greens are on the smaller side for a regulation course and were definitely the best part of the course, firm & quick. Course knowledge would definitely be beneficial, several greens had severe back to front slope where if you were above the hole, the fringe may be the next best bet to stop your down the hill putt. Several greens were relatively severe, if you were on the wrong side of the hole, a 3 putt was likely. The fairways were generally lush, thin in a few spots, but very playable. The rough was a mixture of lush, thin & hardpan. The tees were generally in good shape. The traps were very well maintained with thick, dark sand. The course staff was very friendly and got me right out in spite of me arriving late for my tee time.
Very well manicured course with many big trees.
Had a great morning round.
Course moved tee time up in front of Ladies Tournament.
Great shape
One of my favorites for the views, but had not played there in years. Course was in excellent condition!
Good course, maintained pretty well
I had never played here before a couple days ago. Its an older course about 45 minutes outside of Portland. But for an older course the layout is great! There's interesting layouts and the fairways and rough are maintained well. The greens can be a bit bumpy though.
Because the course is pretty short, its pretty easy to score well here if your drives stay out of the trees. Put your driver and 3 wood away and this course will play tougher. Some of the greens are protected with bunkers with huge lips. Though the sand varyies from super soft to hardpan from hole to hole.
Overall, great value for money and a fun course to play on.
Hi, thanks for coming out to the course the other day. We are sorry about the mix-up with the aerification, that is no fun to be told when you arrive.
We are all grown in and in great shape today. Come check us out when you can!
