Forest Hills Golf Course

We encountered a few unplayable muddy spots but overall, the fairways were in good shape. The greens rolled true and were in excellent condition. The folks in the pro shop were very helpful. This was our first time playing the course and we will definitely return.

The course is surrounded by a couple of roads that wind around the course and there are a few houses, but you are pretty much out away from things. The layout is a little confusing if you have not played here before. Numerous holes zig and zag from one green to the next tee, I twice almost played the wrong hole until looking @ the tee marker. Looks like a no frills older course, not alot of trouble with water or OB, just plenty of big, mature trees to keep you honest.

The greens were definitely the best part of the course, firm & quick. Course knowledge would definitely be beneficial, several greens had severe back to front slope where if you were above the hole, the fringe may be the next best bet to stop your down the hill putt. Several greens were relatively severe, if you were on the wrong side of the hole, a 3 putt was likely.

The fairways were generally lush, thin in a few spots, but very playable. The rough was a mixture of lush, thin & hardpan. The tees were generally in good shape. The traps were very well maintained with thick, dark sand.

Course staff was very friendly. I was impressed that several times maintenance workers stoppers their mowers from 50 yards away while shots were ongoing.

Although I find their regular summer rate slightly above what it is worth, they do have some great deals on Golfnow. Especially in the offseason. I played 18 holes for $8.99 as one of the Hotdeals, and that is the best value for my money I have gotten in a long time. The course has some real tough holes, and some fairly easy ones. I feel like the distances give a good variety, and the greens are varying shapes and sizes. Good fun, and good excercise to walk up and down so many hills.

Great Northwest style course, not too long but chalenging enough for all skill levels. Fun to play and good layout for the price.

This course is always well maintained, and I enjoy playing there. It's not too difficult, yet challenging enough that you need to be aware of club selection on some holes. Especially on 10, 11 and 16.The practice range mats need to be replaced though, as they are in terrible shape. The greens are always in great shape, and the practic putting greens are very well maintained.

This is a great course. Especially for 20 bucks on a sunday. Unfortunately it had just been airated and there was no notice. Otherwise quite good

I've played this course many times and it's always been great. So I jumped at the discounted aeration deal!!...Big mistake..I swear they have stock in a sand company!!! When they aerate they MEAN IT!! Having said that I did have one of my best rounds out there....Must be the saying about adversity making us better?

This course was in beautiful condition, making it a pleasure to play. Its rolling terrain provides some unusual and memorable golf holes, which contributes to the fun. A couple of the par 3s are pretty challenging, due in part to their sloping, slippery greens. The club house is in a very old building that is in desperate need of a complete makeover. Clearly, all the revenue here goes into course maintenance, and they do a very nice job of that. The modest greens fees make this lovely course an outstanding value. It has enough 'dragons and alligators' to keep it interesting every time.

Forest Hills is a beautiful course set in the farmland outside of Hillsboro. The fairways where in great condition and the greens were as fast as a piece of slate. The driving range plays off of the grass which is not only great, but very rare nowadays. The staff was very welcoming and the 19th hole was well stocked. I will definitely play Forest Hills again and recommend it for a great day of golf.

My first time to Forest Hills and I was impressed. It was a beautiful sunny spring day and I expected very slow play. I was pleasantly surprised as the pace went very smooth. The course was in excellent condition and I will be returning soon.
