Played the east course!
Ended up pkaying the east course. The course layout was fun and challenging. Several short par 4s that provides enough of a challenge to keep playing fun. Most of the par 5s were somewhat uphill but manageable and interesting due to the blind second or third shot. Par 3s were average to easy. Pace of play was slow due to the number of people playing that day (weather was fantastic).
Loved the course
Beautiful course, played my best game on the first nine, harder on the back nine.
Nice Saturday Golf with Good Weather
The course is now in pretty good shape with fairway all dry although there are some uneven surfaces after all the rain. Pace of play was a bit slow, but was expected because it was Saturday with nice weather. The greens were fine and I enjoyed playing. I will definitely play again.
I say Glenn is my home course. West is tad easy
We only played the front 9. This side is really flat and easy to walk. It is a little short with driveable par 4 on about 3 holes. It pretty wide open. The back nine is tougher and more sloped and hills. Currently they don’t have have anything in where ringside is but I heard they hAve brewery going in that building. But if your new and really want to wanted play a longer course, Glenn west is a good one to try. The greens well in really good shape(plugged the 4/26) and the grass was very well cut in both the rough and fairway. Sometimes later in the season you will find players don’t do a good job replacing ball marks. But it was awesome value for $15 dollars for 18
The best value
The only thing missing is a place to get hot food.
Course is still wet and soft...
Course is playable with the exceptions of the January weather...Avoided the puddles and muddy spots in the fairways and cart paths...the putting greens are well maintained, no signs of winter damages on any of the 18 holes.
everytime i play this course, i seem to have good luck in shots but not in putting..
i guess the green is tkugher for me than other cpurses i play...
so i want to keep playing more o this course..
i like the course and the staffs
Hadn't played the West side for a long time-was pleasantly surprised how nicely groomed it was. It had some areas on the course that were over watered but we didn't complain too much because there weren't very many brown areas.
Nice course and great golf now deal
Great condition of the West course and nice pace of play. We didn't have to wait on any hole or had anyone behind us unlike other times.
Good short course, want more of a challenge try the East course
Makeable pars and a few birdies brings me back . Fun time on a nice day. Will be back.
Course condition
Highly happy with the condition of the West course. After all the bad weather we had, the course was in a great condition. Greens still a little firm but surprisingly fast! Can't wait until summer is here for a while and play another round or 5!!
Fun course
Course is a bit short, but that fits us old folks.
will return
Glendoveer west wet!!!!
It was extremely wet on fairway and the greens were soft... need trimming the fairways a bit more.
Great for working on short game/off the tee
I've played both the East and West sides of this course. The West side is great if you want to work on accuracy off the tee (most holes are less than 350 yards) and your wedge game. The East side is great for developing your mid irons and putting! Would recommend to anyone playing in winter weather conditions in the Portland area.
Overpriced except with a Hot Now Deal
So I play a wide variety of golf course and have played some really beautiful courses. I have been fortunate to work in the golf industry and have access to great courses. The west course at Glendoveer is a great course for beginners and a great course to get your confidences up or for older golfer who have lost some distance. The front 9 is straight forward and the easier of the 2 nines. There are some solid holes on the back. 12-16 are the best holes on the course. With 16 being a pain (I hate a draw and it calls for a fade). I like 18 as finishing hole even though its a par 3.
My biggest issue is with the price. I hate when I have to play here on a Saturday morning in the summer. Its extremely overpriced especially compared to the east course or other courses in the area. They really need to lower the price. Ive played Gresham golf course, which has a better layout and is usually in great shape, and have been amazed of the price compare to Glendoveer. The only reason I gave this 5 stars for the Value For the Money is because I played with a hot now deal. It beat hitting balls.
