Terrible
The course is hammered. It used to be a decent place. But the ground under repair spots are literally almost everywhere. Just hitting off hard pack ground which is mud rn. Also I don’t know what’s up with the frisbee golf that they have added to the same area that you golf on. Ridiculous. Probably won’t play here again.
Still winter
Fun in the sun but very frozen under your foot! You could bounce your ball off most frozen greens and some fairways where the sun don’t shine! Putting was tough and fast. The cold made for an interesting day of not aiming for the green but way ahead so the frozen bounce would get you the rest of the way there! Ducks walking on the ice,but a great sunny day!
Always a fun course to play
Both courses at Glendoveer are fun to play. The west course is fairly open and forgiving. If you are hitting left or right there usually isn't to much trouble you can get into. Lots of holes that are open and you can let your driver eat. Super wet and mushy everywhere in early January including on the greens. One hole had a little lake in the middle of the green. And the bunkers are swimming pools. But it still a very playable course. I definitely recommend trying to play here if you get a break in the weather.
Solid Course
Glendover is a great course with tree lined fairways. I like that the ground underneath the grass is firm. I didn't have any fat shots in my round. The greens aren't too fast, but the slopes are very challenging.
Solid!
Glendoveer West is on the easier side, and well maintained. Really my only gripe with the course is that if you’re paying full price, it’s pretty spendy for a municipal course.
Glendoveer pace of play horrible
Played at Glendoveer today and remembered why it was not the best idea. Even middle of the week play is incredibly slow. No marshals are ever used on the course for whatever reason. Frustrated I stopped hard on the wet grass and slid. Guess what…? The guy playing the next hole was the club head pro who promptly came over to scold me. And rightly so wet grass or no. But it gets better because I quickly said hey I didn’t mean to slide and the pro says this is his course and his property? Ok? So he begins to lecture me when my frustration with the slow play boils over and I say just go away it was an accident and I complained about the slow play. This is when he says you can leave the course and goes to grab the keys. No joke! That’s exactly right. All the slow play and my slip on the wet grass and failure to acknowledge his power trip needed with me not finishing the round. I said I wouldn’t be back and we agreed on that. So good luck with the pace of play. And whatever you do don’t slip on the grass! Lol
Fast Greens
The greens were fast and difficult to hold without clubbing down and landing it short. Fairways were is pretty good condition given the time of year.
Thought it was weird they didn’t have any water out on the course at all.
Overall Nice course for the price and for a public course .
Good old Glandoveer
Glendoveer is 5 minutes from my house. It is my home course and I play there more than anywhere else. West is the red headed stepson to the East course but a pleasure nonetheless. If you are new to golf this is the best place to play your first 18 holes.
Four turtles in separate carts
The course was in really good shape. But we were stuck behind four individuals with their own carts, who didn’t pay attention to cart signs around the greens and proceeded to park their carts in front of the greens on every hole. Furthermore their pace of play was atrocious. They fell two holes behind. When we ask them to play ready golf, they slowed down. 3 hours and 10 minutes to play 9. A Marshall would have been nice.
