About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Tricky course for golfers w a fade
Pretty good course conditions. $80 w a cart is a little steep. There are always some idiots who take forever but luckily the sheriff will come and ask if you can pass.
A lot of water on the right hand side of fairway and a few doglegs to the left which make it difficult for fade golfers.
Would probably play local in Jersey If I had the choice but I meet a friend from brooklyn in Staten Island. Good middle spot

Excellent Group Outing
Had a terrific time at the Club at Silver Lake. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, the course location is excellent, and the conditions were perfect, all for a mini-tournament that I set up yearly. The course itself was tough, it does play longer than the yardage would indicate but the group's issues were on up-and-down greens and with the thick rough on approach shots. The narrowness of the fairways was taken for granted. Tricky course, but super enjoyable and a terrific outing. Would highly recommend.

One of my faves
Nice challenging course. Lush and we’ll maintained. Not super long but it tight so it puts a premium on your irons. Some pretty holes that vary quite a bit. No “cookie cutter” back and forth holes here.

Very nice course
A little irked that now they bang you for an extra 20 dollars for a cart, which they never did before, been playing for years with military tee times and always the price was with cart

Pace of play
we had a 540 tee time, which we were moving through the front 9. Then as we make the turn, they put two foursomes infront of us.. slowed down the whole, round, changed the pace of play... ruined the day!!!!!!!!!

Course was in good shape. How ever 20$ got a cart rental is a little much. And my group tee off was 5:31 and after we finished nine had to wait on the tenth hole bc they were sending groups out back. Starter and management needs to be aware can’t be sending people out the back interfering with the groups that played the front.

Great Day to Be "Sick" & Play A Round
First time back to SLGC in quite some time even though it's 2 blocks from my home. Pace of play was EXCELLENT. Round took about 4-1/4 hrs. This was great time for this very busy course. Nice day, great weather. Didn't play well. Only my 3rd time out since last August due to pandemic. However, my swing was finding it's way on the back nine. Hopefully, my next time out brings further improvement. Will try Silver Lake again since the pace seems to be better than in past years. Had an * AM tee time, so earlier the better. Don't let the yardage fool you. It's a challenging track. Groundskeeping team was working hard to maintain the course.
