South Shore Golf Course

Think everyone knows SS is garbage but just a reminder it still is. I play there in the beginning of the year and it was in terrible shape and is still is.i just don't see them doing anything to improve. You talk to the staff and they tell you course get a lot of play but so do all the other courses in NJ and there a 100x better. The in the end just want you $$$. So don't give it to them

Weather conditions were perfect; however, the tee boxes were far from perfect. Very hard, dry, and difficult to set a tee. Fairways were in pretty good shape. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They are however in dire need of a course ranger to ride around and speed up the pace of play. IDC if you're a regular, ambassador, or newbie. Keep it moving, limit your practice swings to under a dozen (lol)....That said it was an enjoyable day....I would go back..Hopefully they get a ranger by then....I recommend.

Very nice course with an excellent layout and great potential. Except for the greens, the conditions are disgraceful. Americon Golf needs to put some money into it or the city needs to change its franchisee. It’s a shame that this is not a top rated course in the metro area given it is only one of three on Staten Island that are public. NYC should inspect & direct American Golf to wake up and get this place in better shape.

Wasn’t my first time playing but it has been over a year since I’ve been here. I don’t remember the tee boxes being in such poor conditions. They’re Complete dirt. The blues weren’t as bad so we just went to wherever we could find some grass to plant your feet. It took us an hour to finish the 3rd hole. We had a 7:20 tee time, we finished the 3rd hole at 815. The pace was horrible. I’m just hoping it’s a bad time of the year for the course. The greens were in decent shape, sand boxes were solid dirt, fairways were fine. If you were in a dirt patch just move your ball back to the nearest grass.

The boxes were dry out. But typical for this time of year.Greens & fairway in good condition.

Just go to nj to golf the staff are terrible they let anything go honestly don't waste your time

Tee boxes were dirt. Sands traps not maintained. No on course water or cart beverages on a 90 degree day

The course is my favorite course for many reasons. The tee boxes and the greens need major work done. Idk how people can be expected to pay $60 on a weekday and $100 on a weekend to play in these conditions. Have to either bless your golfers with a price reduction or keep the course at an immaculate level. This is coming from a golfer who loves SS.

Course is fun but the grounds need work

This course requires an investment to revitalize it. Tee boxes and greens especially on back 9 infested with sand hornets. Some trees need to be trimmed back. Golf carts are near end of life. Short course. Price reflects a course for this difficulty level should be near pristine condition
