South Shore Golf Course

Ive been playing this course for years but in the last year or two I have refused to play here because its was in horrendous shape. Until one of my coworkers said they got a new grounds keeper and he really fixed it up. And yes he did. The greens are in awesome condition. There are actual fairways. and for the most part the rough has grass where in the past it would have been weeds or hardpan dirt. In closing im really happy to see change for the better at SSGC. I always thought it had a fun layout and now it has to turf to match

Relatively good course for beginners...reasonable length and overall straightforward, didn't encounter too many bunkers or much water at all. Decent condition as well.

Hot day,was let out early.Nice person in pro shop and first tee.

Hadn't played it in 30 years, best shape I've ever seen it. New owners, major improvements, very good shape. Played it down and never had a bad lie, fairway or rough. Good pace of play, 4:15 for a foursome on Thurs 9:00 am. If you haven't played it in many years, I highly recommend it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Confusion on the tees with no pace of play kills this course at little. The layout is fun and some really challenging holes. Needs a little work but don't all. (Greens ) Ruff was challenging at times and distance will be hard for some short hitters.

it did cost 50 bucks a player on golf now but was worth it because of the courses amazing condition... The greens were immaculate and fairways just as nice.. Right now this golf course is a great place to play..

I like South Shore because it's in pretty good shape and is convenient to get to. The price I got from GolfNow was also good for myself and my daughter to play 18, with a cart. My only criticism is that they let on twilight and other players that start on the 10th hole and, while we were moving rapidly through the round through 9 holes where we would have been done in about 4 hrs, we were really slowed by people that came in and played from 10 on.

Great course, excellent value for the money. Conditions are much better then last year

I actually like South Shore a lot. It has a nice mix of challenging holes. Course was in nice shape just the greens needed to be cut as well as the rough. My only complaint is the golf carts are old and ratty. They definitely need to be replaced. Otherwise I was happy

8:30 tee time. Tee off at 9:10 back 9 moved slow. Another staten island 5+ hour round...

It's a good track..short but fun ..the course was In great shape mostly except for all the unfixed ball marks on the greens but that's the players' fault..pace of play was great..a little over 3 hours..I would definaTely play again

Nice course, good condition, super friendly staff, carts are not the best, overall a good experience for the money.

I read reviews and everyone spoke about the greens being a disaster but they have made this place come back to life. Couldnt beat the price well worth it.

Played this course over the summer and it was in poor conditions. Heard they hired more staff and it showed. Greens and fairways were nice . Got a hot deal and it was well worth the money

Course conditions not bad for this time of year.
Greens surprisingly in good shape, a tad slow.

Played here early in the year it was awful big improvement keep up the good work.

After a lost Summer and grounds keeper change S.S. is on its way back. Besides a few greens the course is in very nice shape and improving daily

This is a great course to play if your a beginner to intermediate. Not too crowded.

Some of the greens were patchy and the tee boxes are still very sandy.
