Golfer Reviews
Better than average pace for NY Muni!
Liked the setup of many of the holes. Not the longest course and not a lot of trouble, but taken care of for the most part and worth the cost of the round. Less than $70 with cart on a NYC Muni course is not bad. Bunker maintenance could use a bit of work once warmer weather hits. We had a very early tee time so that fact that the course was busy had not yet affected the pace of play (we got a four hour round in), but with only one guy checking people in and a computer system that did not seem to give him a lot of support, the tee times were undoubtedly going to back up later in the day.
Fairways and greens were in very bad shape.
I live in Staten Island and I haven't golfed here in quite some time. This is why I go to NJ to golf. $ 70 per round and the course was in very bad shape. This is the third time in 6 months. They should charge no more than 30 a round during peak season. I don't think I will golf there again.
Cheaper at Golf course than online price
Cheaper at Golf course than online price. With booking fee cost would have been $5 cheaper per person, $20 cheaper for foursome if booked with Golf Course. Why is this?
Good course for most amateur golfers, which is most of us!
Course is shorter and not too difficult with generous fairways and decent greens.
Fairways could probably be cut a bit shorter as grass is a little lush. The rough is a little rougher still. Balls are easily lost in the first cut as it is a bit too long.
Greens fees on average are about $70 which is too much, but on par (no pun intended) with other NY courses. You can find some weekday specials now and then.
HORRIBLE
Course is close to home so it is convenient, but it is in absolutley horrible condition. Considering the prices they charge for green fees, it is a complete joke. Many of the greens are covered in sand, and all are full of dirt patches and missing grass. Tee boxes are basically all dirt with a few strands of grass growing out of them. Then there is the goose problem. Geese are everywhere and as you would expect, so are their droppings.
