Beautiful foot hills course.
Beautiful course in the foothills. Never see less than ten deer when we play there. Course is always in great condition. Well worth playing.
Greenhorn creek
Less than 3.5 hour round. Quick greens. Some wet areas are wet just like the other 3 courses I’ve played in the last month. Play it. It’s got a little bit of everything for all level players.
Greenhorn
If I could give a 7 for pace of play I would. Teed off at 1 and finished at 3:30. I’d give the staff the same rating. Greens were quite fast. I kept over putting Fast but true.
Beautiful course
Great course, with some beautiful views, and challenging holes. Greens are very well taken care of, but hard to read for someone who’s never played the course. Most greens were fast. Very scenic, beautiful homes everywhere, however some houses are in the line of fire, so make sure to exercise control on your shots.
Will returb
Fun layout, tough greens
We played as a foursome. It’s been about years since I last played here. The front plays easier than the back 9 by about 5 strokes a member said. That’s about right. The greens were fast and tons of break. Hardly a flat spot on any green. Unlike most fast greens I have played, they had unusual breaks and often multiple unseen breaks. All four of us had more 3 putts in around than we have ever had. I average one 3 putt every four rounds. I had 5 3 putts! Wide fairways and some short holes make it playable and fun.
Mixed bag of holes
Up hill, down hill, short and long. Quite a variety of hole shapes and lengths. For mid August in good shape. Greens fast and many tipped in one direction. Only played it once, and would say more times playing the course would improve score a bit.
Excellent Track, very rude and non - courteous Staff!
Pulled up, beautiful drive up appearance to the clubhouse. No greeting from Pro Shop staff. There were two, talking to each other. Walked up to counter still not welcomed. It was approximately 1015 am.
Proceeded to check in, went very smooth. The Staffer actually comped us a bucket of balls, thanks!
My girlfriend was browsing the merchandise. I decided to go to the bar. Dining room, Bar area looked welcoming. Until I met the bartender. He was an older gentleman, very sloppily dressed( it looked as if he wore his work shirt to bed). He was doing side work, squeezing oranges. I said good morning. He wasn’t too pleased that I was about give him business.
I said hello, barely audible he returned the salutation. I asked him what was good this morning, he opened his arms, “what you want”? Ok, no suggestions from Bartender, so I ordered a Bloody Mary. He had no enthusiasm, no gratitude, bodily gestures were, ok, I’ll make it. I inquired about the ingredients, no comment. He prepared it, I paid. Left him $5 tip for $10 beverage. Hoping that would improve his morning.
Came across several outside service staff, carts, etc. not one good morning, no hello, no welcoming, thanks for being here.
Course was in decent shape, tee boxes were not too defined, sand traps were not trimmed on cuts, previous ball marks were not growing in or a possible fungus. Greens rolled well, very fast, with a lot of roll out. Overall great looking course, just missing the details of beautiful property.
After 9 stopped in for a drink, we wanted a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, bartender proceeded to look for it. Could not find, settled on Chardonnay. The bar area was a little busy with the several tables of men discussing the play. Paid for wine, went to finish round. Passed by the Pro shop, starter was there head down counting or completing administration. Didn’t acknowledge or inquire how the round was going. Not friendly staff at all. Not happy that we ere there paying close to $100 per round.
Finished round, proceeded to the restaurant/bar for refreshments, arrived at approximately 345/4. Bartender was there. We wanted to get a something. Asked bartender, he raised his hands mumbled something. Stated that they just changed POS system, he declared I hate it. We finally ordered, he struggled finding the item on the pos.
Received our Seafood Louie. Umm no eggs, inquired why. He didn’t know it came with boiled eggs. The kitchen was working on preparing 1000 island, they were out. Bartender was getting off and was chatting with some fellas at bar. Not at all professional. He finally proceeded to move to a table to have conversation.
There was a bright spot, a new bartender came on and seemed to be a nice change. He went and got additional 1000 island. Being in the golfing industry, this struggle we deal with all the time. Without constant training, being on the floor, working with staff, seeing what our Guests see, smell and feel. It is not going to just happen.
This is not a staffing issue. This is a training issue, follow up issue, listen in on staff while management observes and corrects.
Thanks
Lost in space.
The course is in good shape for the most part. The greens are fast. The bunkers as is the case at most courses suck. The one thing that will make me not go back there is The lack of yardage markers they're nowhere to be found I found two on the entire golf course this is just unacceptable learning come on no hundred 150 200 not a tree to mark 15 0 nothing no sprinkler heads marked nothing I don't understand what is so difficult anyways course was nice people were nice they just need some yardage markers
Great layout!
Played the combo tees. Challenging and rewarding! Greens were quick! Even saw some deer on the course.
Not bad
I have planned to play Greenhorn ever since it opened 25 years ago. I finally got around to it. I played the combo tees and found the course to be very short, pretty easy, and somewhat quirky. There are at least three or four holes where local knowledge is important.
The course was in generally good condition though I have rarely seen bumpier fairways...not mounds. Bumps. The tees are pretty uneven as well.
It is a long drive from Sacramento and there is a much better course in Copperopolis, just a few miles from Greenhorn. I may play there again but time will tell.
Left my Bushnell range finder on cart called spoke to someone all they said is we will let you know if they find anything I called back multiple times and left messages no response
