New owners are trying just keep seeding the tee boxes and fairways
Fun challenge
Did not play this course in 10 years. Forgot how challenging and fun Melrose can be. The length is not overwhelming but the elevation and angles make you think. Fairways could be improved.

Awesome course! Great time but had these 4 players in front of us that took way too long. We normally play in the morning and are done in 3.5 hours. It took almost 4.5 hours.
great old course, horrible tee time spacing
A 12:20 tee time on a par 70 course (in perfect weather) should never result in a 5-hour round. Space groups out more or you're going to lose more business than you're gaining by cramming everyone in.
Beat up and slow
It seems like they stopped caring about the course a while ago. The greens and bunkers are ok, but the tee boxes and fairways are trash. Also, the pace of play is a nightmare. Youre lookin at a five hour round at least. These courses need to send rangers around like they used to.

The course the tee boxes, some fairways and bunkers are not in very good shape. The greens were good overall.
Rumor has it the place is going to be closed and sold and it looks it.
Classic Old Course
Mature classic layout. Tee markings aren’t very clear where to go but beside that it was a pleasure to play. Lounge wasn’t open for food or snacks on a hot day that was disappointing Well worth playing though I will be back again
