Red/White at Arrowhead Golf Course

Arrowhead is often missed by people; it’s hidden away off the main highway (Rt 422), and it’s not very well-publicized.

I’ve been playing it for over twenty years, and nothing about it has changed. It appears that the original course was laid out almost 100 years ago, but then, about fifty years ago, nine new holes were added to that portion of the course which is across the street from the clubhouse, making it a 27- hole facility. There is a small lake to hit over on hole 8 which makes it one of the best holes. The age of the course shows itself in some short and somewhat awkward holes. If you can play the original holes behind the clubhouse, you’ll get an experience of what early golf in America was like!

There are many hills, but they tend to run perpendicular to the direction of play, so you’ll have more up- and down-hill lies than side-hill. The greens are slow but they run true, and they don’t have a lot of slope.

The pro shop bears mention because they make great quick lunches, cheeseburgers, etc., at very reasonable prices.

All in all, a very enjoyable and low-key experience!

Good bang for your buck. It's a quiet, peaceful course with no houses or condos to hit. Conditions are typical of public courses this time of year. Fun, some challenging holes, some hills, some tree lined fairways...good place to just play golf and enjoy the outdoors.

Forward teeboxes could be better. Greens were in good condition given the time of year. Fairways in good condition. Leaves were cleared pretty well.

Read the reviews and boy were we surprised. Course is in fair condition, but it had rained hard, plus it is Autumn. Some very trying shots from all areas. Rough was little high, but most courses are down to a skeleton crew this time of year.

I like this course. I played here in my teens (in the last millennium). Things haven’t changed much. Like many older public courses the bunkers aren’t very well kept, some are now just grass. That said you don’t lose many balls. The greens are receptive and I break 100 and sometimes even 90.

This course has seen much better days. The fairways are patchy, sand traps are borderline unplayable, greens are extremely slow, carts are fast and finding a ball in the rough is difficult. It not an expensive place to play and the staff is very nice. If you're looking for a cheap round of golf and can tolerate fair (at best) conditions -- then Arrowhead is for you. For me, there are far too many better options in the area.

Starts off tough with 2 par 5's, but great value for the price. You will enjoy the course layout and come back for more.

if you are looking for a course to enjoy and have fun this is it......no fairway bunkers..........green well kept and puttable speed......not fast but not slow.......quick time arounf course and employee's friendly.....play and practice your short game

Awesome staff. Bes toy mic layout in the county. When wet the greens are almost unputtable and when dry they are slow but bearable. Defiantly good value for the money. Enough of a challenge but not to hard. Wonderful carts and cart paths.

Arrowhead is one of my most favorite golf course. The staff is super friendly. That's just awesome for me. The course is always in good condition as well.

The greens were still early in the year and so played somewhat slow. Not as good as they could have been. It is an interesting course with a variety of holes. Wide fairways on some holes & then others that are tight.

We used our Group Golfer Coupons, We called and made Tee Times..

When we showed up , They took the coupon very quickly, no problems.

After they put it away is when they told us.........

Cart Path Only, And oh by the way We have not cut the course yet, But the greens were rolled.....................

Wells folks let me tell you:

The fairways were like rough, The greens were like a shag carpet, seemed like they were rolled with a Pillow, Not cool at all............ I think a Heads up when I called to make the tee time would have been nice, Its not like the course is down the block. It`s a decent ride from my home to get there. I think the staff really dropped the ball on this one. Won`t be back for awhile !!!! For this time of season, The course was in bad shape.............................
