Nice Place Friendly
Good value for an old style country course, extremely friendly staff. Old barn by par 3 is a great photo. Worth the drive
Fun Course to play
Lots of mature trees and rolling hills. Use every club in your bag on this course. Enjoyed playing here and i think you will, too.
Dissappointing
Played here a lot in my younger years but stopped going because fairways were never mowed short. Went back after 20 years and very excited to revisit. The greens were terrible for putting. Don't think they were mowed this season and there was patches of long grass. Greens were the slowest I've played on in years and I play 30+ rounds a year. I know it's early but I have been playing weekly since Jan. with the exception of when ground was covered in snow and these were the worst greens I've played on. Maybe in late spring and summer the greens will be good. However, we won't be hurrying back. There are many other courses in better shape.
Old Fashioned course
The clubhouse also serves as a diner. If you enjoy old fashioned this is the place. The course begins with 2 par fives and the challenges just start there. Many trees and a 250 yard par3.
Best beginners bang for the buck!
I only started playing golf about 3 to 4 years ago, after graduating college. In that time I've seen my game improve ten folds, and in the exact opposite direction of the quality of my game I've seen Arrowhead Golf course go.
Arrowhead is a decent challenge for anyone new to the game, with some trickery late on the course in the 16th and 17th holes. Challenging you to not only be straight, but "long enough." Outside of that this is a pretty easy open course that has seen better days in my time playing.
The fairways have been dry and patchy, while the greens always seem way too soft for the weather conditions of this past season.
The clubhouse has seen better days, and really from the outside to the inside is certainly outdated. It all really looks thrown together. Of the 3 times I played this course this past season, not once was the "snack shack" at the turn opened and operational. 2 out of the 3 times was on a prime time Saturday morning/mid-afternoon. Limiting your selections to just vending machine sodas/sports drinks, and potato chips. I would definitely recommend coming prepared with enough to drink (adult or otherwise) before teeing off on the first tee!
That all said, the course is still a great cheap(er) value compared to some other courses in the area, and can result in a lot of fun if you're out playing with a group of novelist golfers (like myself).
On top of that Arrowhead also is one of the few courses around that offer "Night Golf," or "Glow Ball" scramble tournaments. Which in it's own right are not only cheap, but a TON of fun to play in. And really give the game of golf a fresh, new, extremely fun perspective! That I cannot recommend enough.
Not worth it
If you have played golf for more than a year or two and can break a hondo then you should have no interest in this course. The clubhouse smells like a mixture of moldy basement and dirty diapers.the lady behind the counter was obviously not interested in me or my business. Geese and their droppings are everywhere. Sand traps that had no sand but held water when it hasn't rained in weeks. The 1st hole is a par five. The second hole is also a par five. There are way to many "trick" holes like the 250 yard par 3. Number 16 and 17 are not true tests of golf. Spend your money elsewhere. Don't be fooled by any positive reviews on golf now like I was.
Very Nice Course
Finally had a beautiful day with low humidity. Course is in very good condition and the greens are large and well maintained. Most holes are straight and many are on hills making for interesting shots. 16 and 17 are quite difficult do to the layout - up some really nasty hills. For the price, this is a very nice course to play and I will play it again.
Decent Track
Played here on a hot deal. There was a lot of rain the area so we were told when we got there that we would have to walk. The day was hot so we only walked 9. Course was in decent shape for the amount rain. I would play here again and would recommend to someone looking for a decent challenge.
Tee Box Where are you
Course is fairly challenging.. but wish they spent a little time on the tee boxes. many were just stuck onb same level as the fairway.. many were uneven.. making fior a fun tee shot...
Horrid, going downhill fast.
Played here before because it was cheap but I won't be back. The rough was so long we couldn't find our ball, the greens were so slow, and it took close to 5 hours to play. I expressed concerns to a worker and they didn't seem like they could care one way or another. Not sure how some of the other users here are rating this course so high but don't be fooled. Don't get me wrong I like the layout here, but with the conditions we played its just not worth it.
Arrowhead red/white
Rain the day before cloudy day of and a twosome letting me play through and I played in about 3 hours.
Arrowhead has a few odd holes and 2 par 3's in a row but the trees lining the holes allow to find errand shots and the course was in great shape.
I played here before and will again
this course has a nice mix of friendly and challenging holes.
Nice layout with well maintained cart paths and greens that were in excellent condition. I played following two days of rain and yet the fairways and rough were trimmed and neat. The course has a nice mix of friendly and challenging holes including a 248 yd. par 3.
Arrowhead has wonderful holes.
Overall the course was in good shape except for the bunkers. The bunkers were horrible.
Not worth the money
They did not follow any tee times and we got stuck in the middle of several unorganized groups. The course was nice but not well kept and the bunkers were mud my sand.
Good enough
Good cheap course. The food is terrible and staff not so friendly but that doesn't really effect anything.
Hidden Gem
Had a great time playing this course. Great course for the money. Greens were good fairways were good. Rough was a lil ruff but overall I will be back definitely.
the course is in great shape
this is truly a great course to play in very good condition and well taken care of, i would suggest to anyone you will find this course really nice to play and i have been back since i was there the first time.
This course has an interesting layout with 3 par 5's on the front and a challenging back nine,
Played here for the 1st time in years. Really enjoy the unique course layout. The tee boxes are a bit "hairy" and the traps were like concrete. Greens were in good shape but a little slow, Overall course was in good shape.
