Course is in great shape can't wait to come back and play again. Good challenge
Definitely best course when green gets recovered
Course layout is great, somewhat challenging, though greens are not in a perfect condition at the moment since they are sandy and having aeration holes. I will come back in May or June when greens are expected better condition.
Aeration Alert!!!!
I’ve played this course a few times this year and it was always in pretty good shape. There are very few bunkers on the golf course and they are always in need of repair but that’s typical of most public courses in the area. They recently aerated their greens and there is no notice on either Golf Now or their website. No discount offered either. The greens rolled ok but the speeds were inconsistent due to the varied amount of sand on them. It made putting and chipping a guessing game. (It’s not wise to aerate so late in the year, 3rd week of November). Although they did a good job, The greens will not recover until May of next year. It’s ideal to aerate at the end of August in the northeast. Growing conditions are ideal and the greens will fully recover in two weeks making for a great green experience throughout the late summer, fall and winter. The rest of the course was in good shape with minor exceptions. The par 5 third is always a bit of a mess as there is a creek running across the hole that overflows its banks and there is poor drainage about 50-75 yards out from the creek, Resulting in a lot of casual water. The pace of play was pretty bad. About 4 3/4 hours. There was one group a few groups ahead of us holding up the entire course. Golf course etiquette is out the window. They were millennials who had no clue and/or didn’t care that there were three holes open in front of them. A round of golf should take four hours max. If you can’t complete a round in four hours or less, you need to pick up after double par or less. Obviously there was no ranger on site the entire round. It sucks when you have to wait on every shot. Other than that, it’s a fun and easy course that is good for the novice golfer. Just learn proper etiquette before heading out to play.
Hidden Gem
Macoby Run is at the top of my list of favorites. It's elevation changes offer more than just dogleg and putts. The course was in great shape. The greens were unblemished, accessible and challenging. The hole locations are spread out and we rarely even saw other golfers. Workers were courteous and even other golfers were friendly when seen. Great day. The special was delicious... washed it down and on my way home. Dont tell everyone.... I'm hoping it stays a "hidden" gem!
Bonus Day Brings the Crowds
First time long time. Great conditions. Fast greens with undulations the challenge anyone. Long straight, nice doglegs, appropriate bunkering. A couple ridiculous par 3s. Will play again and recommend others try it..
Greens Like Ice
Course, leaf free, beautiful day, greens tough to hold, chip to and putt. This course has great staff, friendly to all, reasonable prices. Well worth the little extra drive. The course is playable by all and holds enough challenges to keep you shot making. Not your average public venue, But is the normal hilly course found in southeast PA. Roll and fairway stance can be challenging.
It is clear that management takes pride and the course is well maintained... overall great value for dollars...

A public course in better than average condition, especially for this time of year. Lot of bridges out along many routes makes getting there a bit tough
