Dauphin Highlands Golf Course

We started our day with a very rude male staff member (Derrick?) in the pro shop. He was unhelpful, unfriendly, and gave snappy responses to simple questions. He then reprimanded multiple golfers about rules not posted nor explained. This was our first time here and we got a poor first impression. The course was lovely and we would like to golf it again - hope the staff improves.

Many holes here are there for the taking but you must know your distances!
The condition of the course is excellent and the tiered greens challenge you to play to the Correct side of the pin on many holes. I'm Looking forward to my next round!

To our surprise the greens were covered with sand and aerated. Why do this during the first few days of September? Booked round on Golf Now and had no idea the greens would be this bad. The course is advertised as one of the best to play in the Harrisburg area, but our foursome was very disappointed at the conditions of the greens. Club house staff was in denial and said, "your the first to complain." For the price, stay away for some time...save your money and play another course!!

For a public course, very well maintained. Challenging enough for you to use every club in your bag. Generous fairways means you probably won't lose many balls but the elevation changes, undulating greens, forced carries, strategically placed bunkers means it always easy to get to the green. Definitely will play again the next time I am in Harrisburg!

My first time playing Dauphin Highlands will definitely not be my last! I did not realize that the course was that beautiful, and it was in really good shape. The course has really beautiful fairways and soft greens in the middle of summer, compared to most courses right now.

I played here Saturday morning very early. We were the first group out. I obviously can not make any remarks on pace of play because we set it but I can say the staff is fantastic! I have not met many happier folks at 6 am on a Saturday morning! This course is in great condition too! I fully intend on joining here when my current membership is up at my club! I was very impressed! DH ranks up there with most private clubs in the area!

Nothing but spectacular. ...starts at the check in desk and carries on right through the starter Jimmie. Have many plans on returning.

Took over 5 hrs to play in a 4some that we were grouped with. Course was in great shape.

Course is fairly wide open but you can find some trouble if you don't play to avoid trouble/sand. The pin placements today were horrible placed where about 11 or 12 of the first 15 holes were on top of crests, on the side of a crest or underneath a crest. They needed a clowns mouth on the 15th. I watched a putt roll from the side of the hole turn slowly just short of the hole and then roll 15 feet right. The next guy was about 12 feet below the hole, putted straight up to within 1 inch of the hole where the ball stopped and then rolled backwards about 10 feet. It would be a pretty nice course if they weren't so insane with the hole placements.

When my group showed up the pro shop worker did not want o honor the arranged rate for play on Golf Now even though I showed him a print out of the agreement that was emailed to me. After a few tense moments, the course and pro shop manger did agree to honor the agreement.
The pro shop claimed that GOLF NOW screwed up and did not notify the course.

A beautiful course with a friendly, extremely helpful staff. While the greens were patchy and beat up, the fairways and tee boxes were great. The course is hilly, but very manageable to play. Be sure to check out the view of Three Mile Island on the 11th tee box.

My only gripe was the very outdated clubhouse that looks like a scene out of "The Shining" and our playing partners golf cart that needed to be pushed from behind the remaining 5 holes. Small indiscretions for such a beautiful, playable course.

Been playing this one for many (10+) years and am happy to say this course is the best in the Harrisburg area. Greens were true and fairways lush with springtime growth. Tree removals on the back nine will help to improve the greens on the trouble-prone par fives. All in all, a wonderful experience for our group. ENJOY!!!

Even though the greens were aerated, the course was in great condition for the first weekend in April. It handled the winter very well. The staff was outstanding and accommodating.

Even though we are just coming out of winter the course conditions were good. Challenging but open course makes for a fun round.
Would play again. Green fees are reasonable.

The course is in great shape, considering that it is almost November. It is always a challenge to play this course, because you have hitting the ball well to score. But it has a top notch practice facility, and some of the friendlist service of any course in the area.

The tees, bunkers and fairways are always in great condition. Greens can be hit and miss though. Sometimes a little slow / bumpy and other times lightening fast. I think that is a result of the weather we've had lately.

Good course and fun to play. The wind can make some of the holes brutally hard but that's golf.

Living in York county Pa this course is one of our groups favorites. We try to get there at 4 or 5 times a season, never found to be in poor conditions. Great vistas!
We consider Dauphin to be a premier course with reasonable fees.

Would have been highly rated were it not for a painfully slow back 9. We finished front in 2:10, but back took 2:45. No good! Even called clubhouse, who sent someone out to try speeding up, but did no good.

course was aerated called earlier in the week asked if any plans to aerate they said no course was still enjoyable one of my favorites drove 90 miles to play would have waited a week or two if I knew

The course was in excellent condition. Sand traps were being refilled to new sand. Tees, fairways and greens were in very good condition. Course is challenging and a lot of fun. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
