Golfer Reviews
What happened to this Golf Course???!!!
I’ve played this course since I was a kid!
I’ve seen the major changes over the years.
There was major investment in the mid 1990’s.
Course was in great shape for 20 years!
But now… it’s obvious that nobody is setting up the mowers, maintaining the reels and bed knives!
This is basic stuff that should be happening daily, monthly etc….
Nobody has maintained the bunkers!
The course obviously doesn’t have a backhoe for reconstruction and drainage purposes!
There is zero drainage management happening!
Piles of wood everywhere - stacked for some reason when it could just be thrown into the nearby woods!
And homemade signs everywhere!!!!
These people are absolutely clueless about the basics of maintenance on a golf course!!!!
There’s no way they are doing the amount of rounds that they have done in the past!
The actual owners should take inventory of that.
Corporate owners who have zero interest- and an absolutely clueless management is a bad combination that will ultimately move this once beautiful course to the same fate of Blue Ridge!
Worst carts ever
They have the absolute worst carts I’ve ever seen I couldn’t get one that actually worked struggled getting it to move the first 9 holes swapped for another that was even worse for the back 9 there was goose crap all over 3 of the greens and fairways I will never play there again
Course is amazing, and the staff are outstanding.
Greens are challenging, a bit soft but still great.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
I will be back to play again in the future.
Staff is a nightmare
Took 15 minutes to check in. The girl behind the counter was more interested in answering the phone than checking people in. Then the ranger was yelling at us to hurry up after they made us late. Course was in terrible shape, had trees every where that they cut up but never bothered to remove. Harassed by the ranger the whole round. I have not played this course in 2 years… mostly because of how the staff conducts themselves. They are on some sort of power trip and get off on harassing the golfers on their course. I’ve read most of the reviews on this golf course and 4 out of 5 complain about the staff and how unfriendly they are. Then the owner post some justification as to her action. They need to ask themselves are all the golfers on the their golf course the problem or are they the problem.
Good shape
Haven't played here in years. Pleasantly surprised ,course was in great shape and greens weren't bad.
Disaster
Never again. Today was the worst conditions I've ever seen at this course. Fairways were 2-3" (our group lost a ball hit in the middle of 18 "fairway"), rough was 8-12", bunkers completely abandoned and unplayable w/ no rakes (sign in pro shop said all bunkers are unplayable, free drop). CPO entire course. Pro shop attendant not friendly...but was certain to say "keep all 4 wheels of the cart on the cart path at all times". Pace of play was 4 hours, 40 minutes. Greens were solid. Tee boxes were shaggy.
This course signage is obnoxious. There are hundreds of signs on the course (no exaggeration) The course is obsessed with letting you, the customer know that all alcohol must be purchased at the course. In summary, they seem to have no respect for their customers.
I would never write a negative review if the above mentioned items only presented themselves once...the course condition has been a disaster the last 3 times I played the course this year. To the management, please sell the course to someone who cares or call Toll Brothers for an offer on the property.
Great layout/design
I have been hesitant to play here because of the reviews and it's a bit farther from where I live but, I was pleasantly surprised by the course design. The course itself could use better upkeep in certain areas. The greens weren't great but most of the issues were from players not doing their part by repairing ball marks and not dragging their feet while walking on the greens. Sand traps were not playable, they were like hitting off concrete. Most tee boxes could use a good steam rolling to level them out. You should never have to start a hole with the ball above or below you feet. With that being said, I feel the design of the course is still well worth giving it a try. If cared for properly, this could be a championship course. As for staff, they were very pleasant/kind/personable from the moment I got out of my car. I will definitely play here again.
Pleasant Surprise
This was a nice surprise to find this course nestled at the base of the mountains. Nice scenery, decent variety of shots, and well maintained course. I will be back.
Just ok
Just an ok course. $20 hot deal is absolute best deal around other than iron valley deals
