Near perfection
Darn near perfect course, clubhouse, weather, etc. There aren't more than a few more awesome municipal courses in the country. Can't wait to get back out there.
Course has no defense other than hard & fast greens.
A tidy but uninspired track, impeccably maintained yet lacking character. Most approach shots will find the green with ease-only to bound off the back, setting up a frustrating series of three-putts. With no real hazards or strategic nuance, the course’s sole line of defense lies in its hard, fast greens. Ultimately, it offers little reward and even less satisfaction.
Great place
There’s a reason everyone is talking about this course. They’ve really fixed it up into one of the best courses in the area. It’s not that long but it’s got an interesting mix of holes and the speed of the greens makeup for the lack of length. Probably the fastest greens I’ve ever played. I don’t understand why they have weird colors for the tee boxes. We started off teeing off from the whites only to realize “white” is the forward/ladies tees. Can’t courses just stick to the common color scheme everyone agrees on? Black, Blue, White, Gold, Red. Don’t over complicate it
Always decent
Overall, J-ville is a great course. I prefer to be first or last tee time. A few unfortunate issues: 1) there was 1 group of elderly 4 that held up groups by about 8 minutes each hole. We still got through the course in under 4 hours. 2) no ball washers, kind of confused by this. After they redid the course, ball washers seem to be necessary but it’s their decision. 3) my group hit 2/3 drives to right rough on 10, and a group of elderly gentlemen took our tee shots from the rough then returned to 9’s tee box and continued on….this is unfortunately common here.
2 out of 3 issues were that days issues. This is a great course and fully recommend to others.
Great place but the staff sucked
Great track, but the guy in the clubhouse was a jerk. Also pace of play was pretty slow
Wonderful course
Plusses
- Great layout.
- Well maintained
- Generally nice staff
Minuses
- Unaccommodating to senior physically handicapped player
Challenging greens, excellent conditions
Excellent conditions. Will make you pay if you are not accurate. Nice layout and lots of fun. Greens are very difficult.
Great!!
Such a great experience from start to finish. One drawback was some pin placements. Literally, almost impossible. I watched several groups go through certain holes and go back and forth between putter and wedges from not being able to keep a ball on the green. I'm fine with challenging golf, but this just seems unjust. Scorecard wrecker, for many! And, come to think of it, the starter made a comment that one of the guys that struggled in front of us was a pro! He 4-putted! So that was somewhat comforting.
Still, love this place and what they have done. Best bang for the buck in the region, by far. Major kudos to all.
