Kimberton Golf Club
About
Kimberton Golf Club, which opened in 1962, has stood the test of time. Well known golf course designer George Fazio created a nice mix of holes about 45 minutes northwest of Philadelphia. The golf course isn't overly long and doesn't feature a lot of trouble, but it's long on fun. The signature par-4 third, a dogleg right around woods, is a pretty hole and worth the trip. Kimberton Golf Club is a just good old-fashioned, Philadelphia-style golf course.

Firm greens but bring your weed killer
Played a slow round with 3 friends. No rangers nor starter at the course but staff in the pro shop were friendly. Course layout has holes paralleling each other closely. Some holes are open, others very narrow testing your accuracy. There is a decent variety of hole layouts; dog legs, long, short, and a few with water.
Greens looked nice but were very hard and many small in size. they held nothing, even high shots with a 60 degree wedge. Wedge shots landing 10 feet before the hole would end up 15 feet past or even off the green. This was tough to play with since I am used to soft greens and spinning shots back on occasion.
Many tee boxes were covered with weeds. Some fairways were full of weeds too but other areas were in great shape.
Over all, the $20 I paid to play here was a decent deal but I am not a fan of the course.
Extremely slow play ahead of us
Average course. Good value. There was extremely slow play ahead of us.
Course plays well.
Well maintained course with nicely groomed fairways and greens, which were firm and fast. Several challenging holes but overall a very scorable course once you know the layout.
Biggest con is no drinking water is provided on the course, forcing players to buy water at the turn. In addition, the facility was understaffed and I rated staff friendliness as dismissive for this reason.
Paid for 18... Got 9
I have played Kimberton in the past and liked it very much. So when I booked the tee time I was excited to revisit this course. When I arrived I noticed 20-30 student golfers there and figured they were going after 3pm (my tee time was 242pm), but when I checked in they told me they made a mistake and the students were already going off the first tee and asked if I minded starting on the back 9. Not a problem until we start coming up 18 and there are another 20 guys at the first tee. They had a league going on from 4-6pm and I couldn't play the front. Not only that they asked me to try and play the back 9 again. I didn't want to play the same 9 twice and even if I did there was a log jam of 12 golfers on 10. In the end I didn't even get to play 18. This mistake should be rectified by the course and they should schedule better. Very disappointed by this day.
Great value. Good condition. Tough greens.
Great value for the money. Aside from some ball marks on a few greens, the course was in really good condition. My only complaint was that the greens did not hold approach shots very well. Just about everything would roll right off of the back. Great deal anyway.
lovely day of golf
lovely course, mature , well maintained, easy for walkers and an enjoyable countryside to enjoy
Good course love the greens.
Played there on a Saturday afternoon course was packed but the pace of play was excellent. Well maintained course. Shot an 80 couldve been alot better few tricky greens. Look forward to playing it again shortly.
Not a bad course with the discount.
Course was a little wet but overall not bad. One green was air rated so with the discount wasn't bad, wouldn't pay full price.
Ok course for the right price.
Course was in decent condition. Fairways needed work, hard to tell if you we're in the rough or fairway. Greens were in great shape. Some holes are challenging but majority are flat and open.
Good Value Course with above average maintenance
If you are looking for a fairly wide open course that still has many challenging holes, Kimberton fits that bill. Greens are above average for a public course, and fairways and tee boxes as well.
Enjoy!
Good shape
The greens are always in great shape and the thing to remember is that almost every geen breaks away from route 23 at the top of the hill. You can't see that break a lot of the times. There are a few 400+ par 4s. It is a fun course to play and not too hilly if you like to walk.
somewhat challenging older course
Course is older than most in the area. The day i played it was soaking wet after a bunch of rain the day before. They were not able to cut the grass which actually made it play harder. A lot of the holes are just straight shots with only a few doglegs. Water only comes into play on 4 holes. But what they lack in design, they make up in yardage. Nice, quaint course for any skill level.
This cours is average to play.
I played this course with my friend yesterday. It's not bad.
Nice deal!
The course is OK and the deal from GolfNow is super. Recommend.
