About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Inconsistent conditions, pace of play
Decently challenging course, only one par 5. Fairways were OK, greens were great, rough was patchy (clumps of grass, many lost balls in piles of thatch despite seeing location of drive), tee boxes were in horrendous condition--hard, no grass.
Saw ranger yelling at kids looking for ball in sloppy thatch while not sayng anything to the young men in front of them screaming bloody murder at missed putts. Food/bev service was friendly
I would only rec this course if you can play for under $40.

Difficult conditions
I arrived about 1 hour and 20 mins prior to my tee time thinking I might be able to hit on a driving range and do some chipping and putting. The guy in the pro shop seemed appalled that I would show up so early. He told me to cone back and check in 20 mins prior to my tee time. Also, they don’t have a range just a net to hit into. They also wouldn’t let me go off early even though there were open times prior to mine.
The course is very narrow on many holes and it’s very difficult to find your ball in the rough on most holes. The greens were beautiful, but quite slow. If they were rolled they would play much better in my opinion. Some tee boxes were nice, but #17 was hard as a rock. The cart paths were terrible in quite a few places. Overall it was ok for $35, but I wouldn’t consider paying a dime more for this course.
Thank you for recently visiting us at Middletown Country Club. We are anxiously awaiting a cart path improvement project late this summer into early fall. My staff is instructed to have guests that have the GolfNow "Hot Deal" times not check in until shortly prior to their tee times. This has been an ongoing issue within the public golf industry since online tee times came into being. Those "Hot Deal" times are set at those times by the course and the third party tee time provider. We have had guests arrive at least an hour ahead of time trying to get out at an earlier time because the tee is open. Those "Hot Deal" times are set for a reason. I too like to get to a golf course early as well, especially if I am playing in a tournament. I apologize for that confusion, but this is a standard practice in the industry.
You should be aware that golfnow hot deal tee times are valid for that specific time only. You will find this is true at any course.

Fun Place to Play
Lots of rolling hills, pretty course. Bees on the 8th hole sand trap. Very fun to play. They have bathrooms by the 5th (I think) hole, as well as a small food and drink stall. This was nice additions. Plus they have a small bar that serves decent food in the clubhouse.

In good shape
I’ve played this course before where the conditions were less than ideal. I am happy to say that wasn’t the case today. Greens and fairways were in really good shape. Only knock is no drinking water on the course and the snack stand was closed on our second pass. Considering the weather was pushing 100 this wasn’t great as my 64 oz cooler ran out.

Course is in Good Condition
Played mid-day on a Wed with a foursome. Course is is in good condition. Greens were excellent but a little slow. Fairways were well maintained .Tee boxes need a little work. The only real issue I have was the pace of play. Several holes had multiple groups backed up, which significantly slowed the pace. We finished in 4.5 hrs.

Love this course! Live down the street actually! I think it’s a little pricier than the other nicer ones in the area

Local favorite
Play here weekly and reading the reviews, please note: bombers come out all the time and play the blues expecting an easy time. They take out frustrations due to lack of course knowledge in the ratings. They stand on par 4 tee box waiting for green to clear when they have no shot of reaching and then complain about pace. The new greens are coming in nicely, spring aeration is done and the quick greens are great. There is no cart girl because there is a snack bar out on the course that you are near after 5, 9 and 13. As for the rude comment on geriatrics, they are mostly retired like most starters and those guys can outscore 80% of the public. Players are responsible to keep the 4-1/2 hour pace..it does no good to complain after 15 or 18 holes...just call the pro shop and be part of the solution.

It is what it is.
This is a goofy, cramped layout with terrible greens. I think the greens keeper was really angry when they set the pin positions as many putts that were stopping within a foot of the hole would roll further back from where you started. Green speeds were all over the place. Tee boxes were pretty banged up, too.
On the plus side there is sand in the bunkers, which wasn’t always the case. The fairways and rough were in decent shape.
The guys in the pro shop, starter and ranger were all very friendly.
It’s golf it’s affordable and iit is what it is.
