Middletown Country Club

About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Needs improvement
This is a short, narrow course with a lot of hills and trees. Shot making is important if you want to enjoy yourself. Tee boxes were in terrible condition. Greens were good given the time of year. Played on a holiday, over 5 hours for the round. Staff is always friendly. Not my favorite course but it will do if I'm late finding tee time and can't find anything else.

Pace
Pace of play is absolutely horrible. There needs to be more of a push by the caddy masters or someone else who works there the group in front of us was playing very slow and taking multiple shots from the same spot. We only got through 12 holes and weren’t refunded any of our money. We paid 45$ Each, For a course that draws below average golfers and and a poor pace of play and no golf etiquette. I tried to play somewhere different than my country club to change it up. I will not be back

Enjoyable close to home course
Overall I enjoy this course, for me it’s convenient and close enough to home. Price is t horrible. The only real complaint I have are the greens. Other than that it is a challenging enough course for an average everyday player. Staff is very nice and friendly to talk to. Pro shop has your basic needs plus a little more. I have not tried the bar/food there yet, but I hopefully will soon. 8.4/10 would recommend.

Great day out
I’m a beginner and it was my first time here. Played with a father and son that knew the course and they were very patient and helpful.
I haven’t been to many courses to compare but I had a great day playing this challenging course. I say challenging, for me because you can’t see the flag from several tees so playing with a couple guys that knew the course helped and the greens are undulating making for challenging putts.
Great value, I’ll play here again.

Spring Ball
Might want to tell more people you closed one of your greens and placed it in the middle of the fairway…. Also open up the midway station for food and drink…. Other than that, great track

Terrible
This course was the only one available. After arriving it shouldn’t have been. The first two tee boxes were closed to front delay which I understand it’s winter golf. However the 3 tee which is where golfers were starting from were backed up 4 foursomes. The pace of play was horrible and we weren’t even able to finish our round. The 11th and 13th tees were not in play. Again understandable as they were just replaced a couple years back but this course has completely gone downhill in the last 5-6 years. Tee times should be spaced out at least 15-20 mins. The pace is terrible.

Poor winter course conditions
I know it’s winter golf, but me & my group were never told that two of the greens were unplayable under tarps, so the course made a makeshift green with a hole that looked like a crater. The course should’ve lowered the price of the round for that big inconvenience.

This course ain’t no easy track…..walk it ride it play it! any time, you test this course, you should have a fun and challenging game!

Great conditions for this time of year
Great value especially given the usual good conditions and ridiculous high prices of many South Jersey Courses. As an added bonus you can stop on the way home down the street and pick up some Mamas Meatballs..

Finally, winter rates
I know it’s been a rough couple of years and most businesses are trying to recoup some lost revenue, but it took until December to finally get a sub $40 weekday rate on my favorite local course. The greens are finally coming back, but now the tee boxes need some TLC. They’ve done some housekeeping, taking down some dead trees and trimming others that were badly overdue. I gladly pay the $50 plus greens fees over the prime golf season, but it took a little too long for the winter rates to kick in this year. Hope to get one more round in before the real cold weather comes

Held up great for winter
Greens were challenging and they were mostly free from leaves. It was a windy December day.
No one was out there so I set my own pace of play. Just an enjoyable round.
