Middletown Country Club
About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

terrible day
l golf 3-4 rounds per week at courses within 1 hour of my house and have probably played nearly 100 courses. Middletown is one of the poorest maintained and poorly run places l have ever played. We had a 9:21 tee time and there were 3 groups at the 1st tee box at our time. The rangers drove around for no reason, what can they do when the place is overbooked? The fairways and tee boxes were so covered with crabgrass it was embarassing. As for the greens, there wasnt one green that was entirely green, between the bare spots and completely worn spots there were also greens that had areas patched with sand mix. Sand mix on green? Really. Scratch this place off your list. A waste of time and money.
This course is interesting and has some challenging holes

Nice hidden gem
A little hard to find, but overall very nicely maintained. Enough challenges to get to the fairways. Greens in very good shape. I would definitely enjoy playing this course again.
Course was fantastic
the course was beautiful and picturesqueI would highly recommend this course and I will be back to play it again
A non-fairway drive was hard to locate ball
The cut off the fairway was a little long. Even balls right off the fairway were hard to see.
Time delay
This round took 5 hrs to complete. We waited on almost every hole to tee hole, some holes had a couple of groups waiting to tee off. Ranger was out, but not enforcing the group that was slowing everybody down.
My biggest complaint regarding the course is the terrible sand traps that have. It is like chipping out of cat litter, seriously. Fairways were well maintained as were the greens with the exception of 3 or 4 greens.
Most greens were good a few bad ones
It's a nice course to play . Some very nice holes. Some greens were a little rough.
Nice overall
Tees. Fairways. Traps layout all nice. Greens a little patchy and rough
Middletown Country Club
Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition. The rough was a little thick, difficult to find your ball unless you were almost on top of it. Greens were sad, bare spots and very bumpy. They needed to be cut and rolled. Bunkers really didn't have much sand. It was more like kitty litter.
Challenging local course
greens, fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Pace of play was slow on this day.
Poor Greens led to a Poor Round
Was a holiday weekend so pace of play was really slow. Unfortunately this will be the last round i likely play here for the season. After talking with some of the staff it appears that the icy winter wreaked havoc on about 6 or 7 of the greens. Dead spots everywhere, resurfacing and treatment hasn't helped much, and they were all just very inconsistent from hole to hole. I've played this course more times than I can count, but I'm going to just hold off on playing here again until next year due to the poor green conditions that don't have a near term solution. :(
a players course
middletown requires every club in the bag. tight fairways, blind shots and small undulating greens make this course challenging. approach shots are rarely from a level lie. a handful of greeens had dead spots making them un-puttable. great track for an advanced player. the length on the card is deceiving. pars 3's are a beast from the tips.
Worst greens ever!
Have played here many times over the last 15 years. Don't ever recall the greens being in such poor shape. We were pleasantly surprised at the quick pace at first. Then realized the greens had to have caused golfers to go elsewhere.
Langhorne PA, GOLF
Resident of New Jersey always looking for golf courses close to the bridges, found Middletown on GOLFNOW and decided to give it a shot, found the course to be short but challenging holes with pins tucked in made it the challenge. Gettng off the tee and to the green was the easier part, the greens provided their own challenge especially with the ridges and the size of some of them. I would recommend this to anyone and will defintiely come again.
greens a little rough
The only thing that was bad were the greens there were some dead patches on a lot of them
Decent value if you get a hot deal
Conditions are never very good. Course itself is an ok layout. If you get a hot deal for 35 or under go for it.
Not too shabby
Friendly staff, the course plays a lot harder than it looks but just air raiding the greens doesn't help
