Middletown Country Club
About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Challenging local course
greens, fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Pace of play was slow on this day.
Poor Greens led to a Poor Round
Was a holiday weekend so pace of play was really slow. Unfortunately this will be the last round i likely play here for the season. After talking with some of the staff it appears that the icy winter wreaked havoc on about 6 or 7 of the greens. Dead spots everywhere, resurfacing and treatment hasn't helped much, and they were all just very inconsistent from hole to hole. I've played this course more times than I can count, but I'm going to just hold off on playing here again until next year due to the poor green conditions that don't have a near term solution. :(
a players course
middletown requires every club in the bag. tight fairways, blind shots and small undulating greens make this course challenging. approach shots are rarely from a level lie. a handful of greeens had dead spots making them un-puttable. great track for an advanced player. the length on the card is deceiving. pars 3's are a beast from the tips.
Worst greens ever!
Have played here many times over the last 15 years. Don't ever recall the greens being in such poor shape. We were pleasantly surprised at the quick pace at first. Then realized the greens had to have caused golfers to go elsewhere.
Langhorne PA, GOLF
Resident of New Jersey always looking for golf courses close to the bridges, found Middletown on GOLFNOW and decided to give it a shot, found the course to be short but challenging holes with pins tucked in made it the challenge. Gettng off the tee and to the green was the easier part, the greens provided their own challenge especially with the ridges and the size of some of them. I would recommend this to anyone and will defintiely come again.
greens a little rough
The only thing that was bad were the greens there were some dead patches on a lot of them
Decent value if you get a hot deal
Conditions are never very good. Course itself is an ok layout. If you get a hot deal for 35 or under go for it.
Not too shabby
Friendly staff, the course plays a lot harder than it looks but just air raiding the greens doesn't help
Nice Course
Nice course only draw back is that tee times were running over an hour behind
great course
Course is in very good condition, staff very friendly,
Enjoyed the overall experience
Nice coarse; slow play
Set tee time for 139... Didn't tee off until 210... Only got to the 10th hole by 430 with just two of us playing... Can't really bland the staff Maybe people should do a better job of keeping tee times and moving along and be considerate to the people behind
Challanging
Don't be fooled by the 119 slope. Par 3s are all a challenge from the back tees. Proper positioning in the fairway off the tee very important, as well as leaving the ball below the hole on some greens…impossible to stop close to the cup if above
Nice play
Good place for any level. Interesting hazards. Looks like they are some improvements so I guess conditions will get better. I'll be back
Major Disappointment
Sadly to say but I will not play there again. My overall rating says enough. Just not a good golf course. My third time there and I was hopeful it would get better. Nope..
pleasantly surprised
Last time I played this course was about 15 years ago and i didn't the course too much back then. the course condtion is a lot better now and looks like course layout has been changed too for the better. on the other hand, some tee boxes have to be shared with other holes or some tee boxes are too closed to other tee boxes which I didn't like, but overall it's a very enjoyable course.
Enjoyed Playing
The course was amazing
Each hole is different
This course is very challenging for new golfers like me
Really enjoyed playing
Very Nice!!!
Used to play here years ago and the place took a dive so I avoided it. Read the recent reviews and decided to give it a try again. Was never a fan of the layout but the the conditions were nice. Tee boxes could use some work, greens were in top shape. I wasn't in any bunkers, but playing partner was in one that he had to putt out of because it was so hard packed. Overall a good deal to play there on a Saturday.
