Worth a trip
My son goes to a nearby university and I took him here for his birthday. We both enjoyed the round. Greens in good shape although slow but consistent. Fairways in good shape. Tee boxes were rough however.
Course is interesting lay out and keeps you thinking. We finished in under four hours and I don’t think we waited once! They are doing a nice job with pace. Clubhouse is nothing to mention and closed up for COVID restrictions. We paid $50 each and think it was well worth that amount.
Going downhill?
This course used to be one of my favorites and was always in nice condition. I don't know what has happened but for $50, it's just not worth it. Large bare spots in most fairways, tee boxes were all torn up, and lots of bunkers 'under repair'. Even the practice area near the driving range was a disaster. The greens were still nice, but either lower the price or keep in in decent condition. I understand the tough environment in 2020, but if cheaper courses can do it, so can Royal Oaks.
Great day at Royal Oaks
Joined up with two fun guys. The greens were in very good shape, but not the fastest. Very playable. Rough was short. Fairways had a lot of bare spots, and seemed somewhat damp. A neat layout.
Needs work
Greens are great but course overall needs a lot of work. Tee boxes and most fairways are in bad shape. Was one of the nicest courses in the area.
Water damage on the course but s fun and challenging course.
Always liked course
Conditions were below normal, many issues were not the course’s fault:
Heavy rains 2x this week so greens were very slow and some places showed water damage and heat stress
Covid rules closed pro shop and normal restrooms
That said, always liked the course, felt safe, and conditions were unusual
Great layout
Great condition for all the rain. Traps/bunkers all loaded with water. Some cart paths need work & has for years. Tee boxes, fairway & greens in very good condition.
Overall great
Considering lack of rain, none of the greens were bad. Group of 4 ahead of us and a group of 3 behind us, but felt no pressure to play at a faster pace.
Great Shape
Course was in excellent condition. Played under 4 hours.
Lebanon County Gem
This course has a fun and unique layout. Every hole offers something different. Course conditions (bunkers excluded) were perfect. All fairways were "carpet-like," and the greens were in good shape, putting at medium speed, i.e. they weren't real fast, but they were not slow either. A minor pet peeve of mine with this course are the bunkers. They really don't maintain them at all, and they could all use a major dose of NEW SAND (It's been this way for years though)! I love this course and look forward to many more rounds of quality golf at Royal Oaks.
Nice course with some very challenging holes
Course was in great condition and operations were very organized
