Great Layout, needs a little TLC
Very nice layout, pace of play was very good. Bunkers could use some work. Need some sand in them. Greens were rough. Bumpy and not very smooth. Still enjoyed playing here.
Ok
At one time, this was a nice young layout with excellent course conditions. Unfortunately, the fairways were spotty and the greens extremely bumpy....particularly the condition of the front nine. Also...sand needed badly in the bunkers. Not sure whats going down as far as ownership....but it has appeared to take a step back in quality. I still like a lot about the layout. Maybe they should pattern themselves after Foxchase. A similarly young course...who's layout I probably don't like quite as much.....but the quality of the course was so much better. Foxchase seems committed to their future in attracting customers through keeping up on course conditions therefore attracting more customers through constant improvement...in course conditions and clubhouse amenities.
Royal Oaks
This is a fairly nice course, it has very forgiving greens with wide fairways. I'm not a fan of the 7th hole (Par 5) I've lost a bunch of balls there but overall a great cheap play.
Great Conditions
The course was in great condition. It was green but not overly wet. The only issue I had was that I got behind a group of 4 that didn't let anyone play through so I along with 3 or 4 groups that teed off after me were stuck behind them for most of the back 9.
I teed off at 5pm for $10 so it was a great value to go along with the great weather. I would definitely recommend trying to go out and play here if you are in the area.
Course needs some attention
The tee boxes and greens are in need of repair.
Tee boxes chewed up on many holes and the greens were very soft and slow. Greens needed rolled and then cut....This course can be much better and has been in the past.
Good time.
Course was in good shape and the greens rolled nice. Family friendly
Great local course
Awesome course for your money. Good conditions, nice staff, well maintained.
Poor fairway condition
Mowing was very bad. Pace was slow. Tee setup very strange.
Great course.
Royal Oaks continues to be one of the best courses in the area. The layout is interesting, with none of the "repeating holes" that plague most of our area's courses. It's in great shape, the price is fair, and we played in well under 4 hours.
Run of the mill track!
There's nothing fancy here. But its an ok track to play if your home course has a tournament going on.
I won't go back unless the price is under $30.
The staff could be friendlier and the greens could have been mowed closer. They definitely weren't rolled recently.
Pleasant copurse
Greens were needing attention otherwise everything made for a nice golf experience.
nice course except for Traps and Tee boxes
They need sand in the bunkers. The traps are filled with rocks! Also they have 5 different sets of tees and it can get confusing which is which and what the actual yardage is from the tee your playing. Other than that it's a really nice course and facility. One of the best practice areas around.
Royal Oaks
Course was in good shape for early May. Greens were very nice and putted well. The only negative would be the traps, many were filled with rocks and all of them were like concrete.
To flat for me. Love elevations.
A few years ago course was bad. Much improved now.
Challenging but Fair
The fairways and greens were in great shape considering the weather we have had this spring. The 6500 yard tee markings are challenging but the course is fair if you keep the ball in play.
Solid Value
Friendly staff started things off right. Well conditioned for late in the season; some greens had some damage from animals. Nice layout with a few holes that will challange better golfers, but most were fair and playable for all.
Slow play and actual tee time was 35 minutes later than my reservation.
Good golf course. Greens were very good. Fairways and tees OK. Range is good.
Pace of play was extremely slow. Arrived at course at noon. Tee time was at 12:45 pm. Actually teed off at 1:20 pm. This is simply not acceptable.
Never came close to finishing the round before nightfall. Only completed 13 holes - a pace of play
approaching 5 hours!!
nice value ,nice course
nice course, was given opportunity to go out back nine which resulted in 2 hour and 45 min round the starter made this possible ,great value ,overall would rate course as very good condition holes have good charater.will play again
bad track
Very slow play. No ranger and pro shop staff does not care. They use every excuse in the book for slow play.
Poor condition mars former great.
This track is living on its rep from more than 10 years ago. No starter, no marshals, poorly kept greens, pot-holed cart paths crumbling into rutted dirt channels, almost non-existent directional signs, and a web version of the scorecard that should still be printed, because it actually had some yardages to hazards from the tee boxes, and, speaking of tee boxes, an arcane set of markers from the tips to the forward tees, which consisted of gold, silver, bronze, white and finally, black (at the forward tees!). All in all, the $20 fee was the best part of the day. I will probably not return until I have heard that many improvements have been made to what used to be one of my favorite local tracks.
