Armitage Golf Course

Don't be fooled by the yardage. While the back tees are around 6000 yards there were several par 4s that approached 400 yards, a par 5 over 500 yards and a whopping 230 yard par 3.
Rolling hills, tree lined make for a fun and challenging round.

Great municipal course. Complete renovation of all greenside bunkers. Fairways and greens in excellent condition.

My wife and I played together and really enjoyed our round. The course was short enough for her to score good yet challenging enough to make me play smart. The layout is simple to find the next hole. I always like courses with hole diagrams explaining the direction and hazards of each hole. We really enjoyed our round and will definitely play this course again.

The course plays a little short but it is tight to help combat that. Trees line all fairways and I had to chip out several times. I hit my driver all day but the smarter play is to hit a more accurate club as distance isn't as important on this course. The back is a little tougher than the front and tighter. The course was in good shape and well kept. Bunkers were in great shape. I would definitelty reccommed this course and I'd play it again.

Fairways are tree lined and tight. Must drive to certain areas to make greens in regulation. Greens were excellent for putting. Overall I would recommend this course to any player who wants to have fun while being challenged on every hole.

Don't these courses know you've already paid.. Second time at 2 different courses where they have reservation but pretend you've got to pay.

We have played here for the last three years this is by far the best this course has ever been bunkers a-new sand is wonderful greens are flat what a great time

1. A par 70 with some tight fairways. A shooters course into nice elevated greens.
2. Very friendly and knowledgable staff
3. Come early practice green are a great plus.
4. First flight out done in under 4 hour as a twosome.
5. Greens are very well maintained, sand is new and soft. Fairways are good. A few uneven tee boxes. Could use more yardage markets or fairway posts. Overall great shape and easy on the eyes.

Go early have fun. Will be back for a second shot.

Not enough care goes into maintaining the grounds, while the greens are ok the rest of the course is variable.

This course is extremely tight! Most hole you should let your drive in your bag! Great food after!

Course is very nice front nine. Not so good back nine

Great short course for beginners or seasoned golfers. Always in great shape! The staff do a real nice job at Armitage.

Great layout, course was in great shape. Did like the fact of real restrooms on the course.

One of the niciest municipal/public courses in the Greater Harrisburg Area.

I took my son and son inlaw to play Armitage . The staff was extreamly nice and the fairways were in great shape . The greens were just aerated and seeded so they were running slow . This is not a long course but you better be on your game because the fairways are tight lined with mature trees . I can not wait to take the boys back when the greens are running true because that just adds to the fun of plying Armitage. After playing sit back on the deck and enjoy the great food.

The staff were friendly and the course was great. Speed of play was nice on the front 9 but slowed up majorly on the back. Overall well maintained and will definitely be back soon.

Greens were just aerated, so putting was difficult, and there were no gimmies. I enjoyed the back 9, and the course made a really big deal about their new bunkers which had way too much sand in them... and were difficult to get out of. Other things around the course could have used fixing, and the bunkers really were not a major problem.

It was 85 degrees and humid, it sure would have been nice to see a water jug, but there wasn't one... played all 18 holes and the water fountains near the bathrooms were all shut off. If we had been walking, or didn't bring some water, we might have died out there.

The layout is fun and the course is short, but I think there are better places to play in the area, and conditions might be better too, for the same money.

This course has gone from good to great. They are working hard on improving all aspects of the course. Real Sand! They have trimmed back the overhanging trees to improve chances of a good drive. Much work on improving the areas around the green. This is now the nicest course in the area.

Play the tips. Good workout for your 5 iron and your 60. Everything is always well manicured. Greens in above average condition. Great pub upstairs.

I liked the course.I played from the blues& was still comfortable driving with a 3 wood.Greens was surprisingly fast for the season& in good shape.The only reason I rated the food so low,was because there was none.I understood because of the time of year though.I traveled a hour to play here&I am happy I did.Will be back.Can't wait to see it in the summer.
