Challenges all golfers
Shorter style course that will have long ball hitters either tucking the driver away or being very cautious when using it. Long iron hitters will thrive. Touch around the green is a must.
Course under construction
Greens always fast and true. They are tearing up about half of the green side bunkers. Still very playable
Nice Course - Well Kept
The course was in excellent shape for late October. The greens were fast and a few were pretty challenging pin placements. The fairways were excellent and the side rough areas were also very well trimmed. Of course there were a abundance of dried leaves on the edges of the course which made balls somewhat difficult to find when you found the rough. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golfing at a nicely manicured course. The only issue I had was that the 8th hole was under repair and so we had to play the 12th as two separate holes. This was not really a great alternative to 8 but it was ok.
Never had a bad experience
I've played the course a few times now, and I've never had a bad experience there. During this round, our golf cart got a flat tire. We called the clubhouse from the tee box on #4 and by the time we got to the green, we had a new cart with all of our equipment transferred. It seems a small thing, but I've had nothing but attentive, top-tier service at Armitage.
GREAT COURSE FOR THE MONEY
this was my 2nd time playing this course and is becoming one of my favorite courses. course is in great condition is short but challenging.
Course in great condition
Beautiful condition but lots of trees need to be accurate off tee
Greens
aireated greens. I know you must do this but I still do not like them. I did not know they had them this day.
Nice course...poor hospitality
Great deal from golfnow.com!!! A little confrontation when I was told a stranger would be joing my group. But we got off early with out him. I loved the 8th tee box express lunch option. The burger was very tasty. The reception at the bar on the turn could have been better. Instead we get a bartender yelling over the local bar patrons.
All in all....a great round at a steal of a price.
A great value for the money.
My wife and I truly enjoyed this course. It played
well, especially if you hit the fairways as with most
golf courses. The pro shop and restaurant were
adequately staffed and the staff was pleasant. We
enjoyed a delightful day together.
Great Course and Friendly Staff
The greens and fairways at this course are incredible. The staff was very friendly and they monitored the pace of play to make sure everything went smoothly.
First day ranger!
Have played this course several times and this was the first time that I had a ranger follow me and my group for 9 holes like a hawk. Unacceptable!! Will never play this course again!
Challenging and fun.
I will definitely play this course again. The course is not very long, but is very challenging and in tremendous shape. Tight fairways and true, fast greens. The food in the club was excellent and the same goes for the members and staff. I go to Hershey once a year and plan on playing this course next year.
Armitage
First time using Golfnow.com, had difficulty completing the online process, but the help desk was 'helpful'. Armitage's staff were accommodating and the course was in great shape, except for the bunkers which were filled with water from the past night's deluge.
Course is nice, poor clubhouse staff
I play the course quite a bit only because of Golfnow and it being so close. Otherwise I'd probably not go back, dealing with the clubhouse staff is always a pain and puts me in a horrible mood right before heading out.
The course is in great condition.
The course is very well kept/maintained, particularly for the amount of people who play there.
weather mulligan pays off big
My first experience here was not great due to the weather. I'm so glad I gave this course another try. The fairways are in excellent condition and the greens are in wonderful shape. The course isn't long but has plenty of challenges. These include well placed bunkers, trees and contoured greens. This is a fun place to golf and the Caddy Shack restaurant is a great way to fuel up after your round. Great food and better atmosphere.
Pristine little course
Course was in great condition, I went and played it because of that exact word of mouth. Trees line fairways, and the elevated greens make up for the lack of distance (if anyone is trying to gauge this, I played blues and hit the ball pretty far.) There are a few holes you can go at it, if you're hitting them where you want to, but this course does not have any long challenging holes. Bunkers looked nice but wasn't in one all day. Reccondmend to play.
Great Day
Armitage is a great course, moderate difficulty. The average golfer can have a great time, and the better golfer, will have an even better time. Flow of play always seems to move along and stay consistent.
Challenging terrain
I always find Armatage to be the most challenging course in the local area because of the large mature tree lines and sloping fairways that intimidate me on a day when my 1 wood isn't so straight. It's probably the most accessible course for most players on the West Shore, making it a place to meet some very good competition.
