Mount Airy Golf Club
About
Situated amidst the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Mt. Airy Golf Club sprawls across lush rolling hills covered with lakes and ponds. There are also wandering streams that cut across the course. This demanding layout requires accuracy over distance with tree-lined fairways and a wildly undulating terrain. Golfers will be faced with tricky uneven lies as well as several blind shots. Water hazards also come into play on several holes. The golf course is challenging but high handicappers should not be too discouraged since it can also be quite forgiving, especially on the fairways, which offer some room for error. Mt. Airy is a demanding course, but the interesting hole designs are fun to play and the beautiful setting will make the round worth it even if your score is less than perfect.

Definitely a Mountain Course!
Lots of elevation changes, but surprisingly few severe uphill shots. Overall, the course was in good shape. It had gotten 2" of rain the day before, so it was cart path only, and it was quite soggy in some of the low spots; but other than a couple of locations, remained quite playable. The biggest challenge is the downhill shots. It is very difficult to determine how far to club down and I overshot on several holes a a result. There are also several blind shots that can lead to trouble if you don't know what's in the landing area (starting on the first hole, an uphill Par-5; a good second shot will end up in the pond at the top of the hill...on the map, it looked much closer to the green). The course map and tee markers were only marginally helpful. This is one course where experience is a major benefit. My only complaint was the bunkers, as others have said as well. I expected some casual water in them because of the recent rain, but it was obvious that they hadn't been maintained well, even before the rain. Where they weren't under water, they were rock hard and the edges were ragged and weedy...not at all in keeping with the otherwise good condition of the course.
This course has alot of up hill walking.
Course is set with alot of elevated greens and tee boxes. Over all the course is nice. I was kind of let down on knowing what hole the course was representing from the famous courses. The waterfall of the course could use a good clean up. Make it a showplace for the course. The greenside bunkers were poor needed some TLC. The pro shop needed more choices and some shirts and things for ladies. We would play it again if we had the opportunity.
It poured
Got a little unlucky. Teed off on the back and got 4 holes in and the sky opened up. Sat in the cart for 30 minutes in a deluge. Great thing was the course was able to absorb the water and play continued.
Challenging Pocono Course
A must play in the Pocono. Mountain region, this course has improved since it's reopening. The staff is super nice and accommodating, clubhouse and grill outstanding. Enjoyable outing every time I play here.
Course
The course was in excellent shape and all employees were very helpful, friendly and attentive.
Mt. Airy Golf Course
The course was beautiful but very challenging as well. There were at least 2 sand traps for every hole. Definitely bring extra balls to play with because there was a good amount of water hazards and forest area to lose your ball in. Overall, you can get a good price, the staff is friendly, and the course is fun to play on. Last but not least, get a cart!
Fun Mountain Golf
You never know what you're in for when you sign up to play a resort course. It could be an after thought to the main attraction of the resort (conference center, gambling ect.), or a nice additional reason to go there. I'd like to say this course can stand on its own. As you would expect for a mountain course, there are elevation changes on just about every hole. It will keep you guessing on club selection, especially if the wind was blowing like the day I played. Not overly long, even from the tips, this course demands good driving to avoid the abundant hazards through the green. There is also a good mix of short and long holes. No forced carries if you don't include the hillside below the par-3 9th tee box...which sits over 60 feet above the putting surface! Loads of fun. Besides the tight driving lanes the greens are what define this course. They are HUGE and have a ton of movement in them. If you are chipping into the hole from the side it becomes very iffy if you're going to get up and down. You need to play this track more than once to play it well as there are a bunch of unseen disasters if you drive it to the wrong place or go too long. Over all a good golf experience.
Great course
Very well maintained. Beautiful scenery throughout. Could not have asked for a better round of golf.
Great Course - Great Rate
Four of us were on a golf trip staying in the Poconos. Course was in great condition and each hole is unique. From the whites it was a challenge for us all but we thoroughly enjoyed the round. The combination of the course plus a great rate made for another great day.
Good & Challanging
The course is difficult but in excellent condition greens where in top shape.
The course was in very good condition. Great price and great weather .
I will come back again sooner.
Spectacular golf course
Loved the variety of holes playing across many different changes in terrain. Enough forced carries to keep things interesting but not be annoying. Lots of places to lose balls but fairly generous fairways for the most part. The greens were in excellent shape, and the bunkers could probably use a little work (it was very wet, but it didn't look like fresh powder in there). Overall I really enjoyed the experience and will be back next time I am in the area.
Great early season shape
I love this course but it gives me fits right out of the gate. The tricky steep uphill Par 5 first hole kills me every time but the course is fun and very picturesque. Sidehill, uphill & downhill lies are the norm on this hilly course so don't expect too many flat lies if you're hitting the ball poorly the way I did today. I'll be back to try and straighten things out soon!
Great variety of holes
If the weather forecast had held up from the day before, this would have been a much better day. They cut the grass this morning and we had 3 hours of drizzle, so wet grass was sticking to everything. My shoes were soaked by the 4th hole.
The course itself is great, very good variety of holes. My one complaint was the greens.....every putt I made that approached the hole swerved at the last second. I shot an 85 with 16 tap-ins. I even tried to hand roll the ball into the hole from the same spot and could never get it in....around every hole is a slight mound pushing the ball away from it. Very frustrating when you are shooting well all day long...
Gorgeous mountain course
If you like a beautiful, hilly course with wide fairways and smooth greens, I highly recommend this course. This course is one of my favorites to play not only for the course layout and conditions, but the price you pay here is usually a steal. This course is tough to the more advanced player and can be a nightmare to the average golfer. Strategic play at this course can have your scorecard looking great.. or want to rip it up after the front 9. Each hole is different than the next and most clubs will be used, or thrown.
Mt Airy Worth it
For early in the season, course was in great shape. No evidence of early April aerating. Great price great day, overall. Will come back again.
