Mount Airy Golf Club
About
Situated amidst the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Mt. Airy Golf Club sprawls across lush rolling hills covered with lakes and ponds. There are also wandering streams that cut across the course. This demanding layout requires accuracy over distance with tree-lined fairways and a wildly undulating terrain. Golfers will be faced with tricky uneven lies as well as several blind shots. Water hazards also come into play on several holes. The golf course is challenging but high handicappers should not be too discouraged since it can also be quite forgiving, especially on the fairways, which offer some room for error. Mt. Airy is a demanding course, but the interesting hole designs are fun to play and the beautiful setting will make the round worth it even if your score is less than perfect.

Great Course
I played on a Sat at about 2:30 and the pace was average but the course was beautiful. I have played many nice courses in North Carolina and I enjoyed this one just as much! Just a really fun course overall and in great shape. The staff was great and when we put our food order in on the turn we continued play and they delivered it to us. I paid $25 through Golfnow but would easily pay twice that. I have to rate 5 stars because I have no complaints
Dry season
Well maintaining of golf course but little dry fairway and greens. Anyway, I had a good time playing this golf course.
Terrific conditions
Course conditions were terrific! Fast greens and lush fairways. Course was crowded but everyone was moving at a good pace. Very nice facility. Two thumbs way up. We will return to play again.
Nice layout. Great conditon
First time to play here and found the fairway bunkers perfectly placed for long drives. Greens are big and hard to read. May need to cut the grass for better speed. Only problem is it was cart path. Scored well and straight to the Casino.
A shotmakers course
Played my first round here and liked the course alot. Course conditions were nice overall.
Tee boxes are in good shape and level.
Greens are large and roll nice.
There are alot of blind tee shots and lay up shots. After you play it once it will play a little easier.
My one suggestion would be this, The course claims to have modeled each hole after a Sports Illustrated article showing the greatest 18 holes. They should what each hole is on the scorecard, It would be nice to know about each hole.
Great improvement
The course is greatly improved. Have played it over the past three years and it has come a long way. Excellent condition. Challenging course. New cart paths. Nice size greens. Very hilly.
Excellent course. Well kept.
I would play here every day if I could. The course is well maintained. The greens will keep you coming back. This is one of my top 10 course.
Good golf
Great conditions. Very hilly course. Would definitely go back.
Great course for a resort.
I vacation in the Poconos every June, and have played many courses. Mt Airy could be the nicest I've played to date. The staff was vey polite, and accommodating.
Considering the rough winter in the area, the course was in pristine condition. I was impressed with each and every hole with some shot thought built in to a few of the holes. Use a sky view GPS, or in my case because it was so empty that day, I could look at the lay ups before teeing off. People were nice to let me (single) play through. I could see how play might be slow being a resort, because there were beginners, and mostly seniors. Honestly, I cant wait to play it again someday.
overall nice course
a few tricked up holes, no clear targets, greens extremely slow, course was in great shape and the staff was awesome. overall a nice golf experience.wish there was a range to warm up at and if playing the first time get the yardage book a lot of blind shots and hazards.
A good course to play
This would be a good course for first year players not real difficult but some blind shots that make you think about what to do
Beautiful Course
Course was in great shape considering the harsh winter weather. Fairways/rough was immaculate; greens were in rough shape, but it is very early in the season and will definitely get better. Mount Airy definitely offers a challenge as you will need to hit every club in your bag. Great course for the money too.
Great corse
Played MT. Airy 3 week of May and found course personnel great and very friendly. Course was in great shape. Will definitely play again soon. Steve Quinn
Mount airy
It is an extremely difficult course if you have not played it many times and know the area. One of the dumbest par 5s I have ever played. It is impossible to to get there in two no matter how long you hit. It's a forced layup of like 220 which takes driver out of your hands. Second shot is like 300 plus for layup. A forced layup on a par 5 is ridiculous. Pace of play is very slow. 4 1/2 hours is a good time and you won't hit that. There are multiple holes that if you drive more than 250 you will hit thru the fairway and it doesn't look like it. They need to to let you know distances or else you are taking penalties on great shots. 18 is a reachable par 5. If your a long hitter. Course is not bad but overrated and difficult for anyone more than a 10 handicapp. A lot of very specific yardages that you would never know if you don't play there multiple times. I am a ten handicapp and shot 89
A Witness to a Hole In One
Considering the harsh winter the course was in great shape. A couple of the greens need another week or two to grow out. A challenging course with water and sand traps in places where a bad shot will end up in. Good Golf management is a must! I played with a couple of buddies and one of them hit his first Hole In One on the 168 yard 9th hole. It made his day!!! and ours!! We were the first ones out in the morning so it felt like we owned the course. The staff was very professional and helpful. I would definitely return!! Great views of the mountains, wild turkeys with the convenience of the Mt Airy casino across the street for entertainment, food, shows and lodging
Mount Airy conditions
I played 18 at Mount Airy today and prior to playing I had heard that the course was in rough shape. I found absolutely no truth in that the fairways were excellent and the greens very well maintained . For the lack of rain we've had and the snow sticking around as long as it did I found Mt Airy to be in excellent condition a d would recommend it to anyone.
Mount Airy golf course
For the end of May the course was in great shape. Fairways in excellent shape and greens a little spotty caused by long hard winter but very puttable. Tee off areas a little rough on some holes also caused by rough winter but course still very nice. Overall this course will shape up and I feel is one of the best in poconos.
Good golf for a Fair Price
The course was in great condition being that it was an extremely rough winter. The fairways and greens were above average compared to courses in the area. Overall it is a challenging course and will require you to play some good golf to shoot low. I would play it again
Greens have disease... not even playable
called ahead since we have 1 hr ride... pro shop says the greens are ok, not great, but spring condition, not aerated. this is a great course so we willing to put up with spring greens. get there to find out the greens actually have a winter disease. by the looks of them, unless there is some kind of miracle, the greens are shot until further notice. the fact that we felt deceived only compound my bad rating. the only reason i didnt give 1 star is the rest of the course was in great shape and overall this is a great course... just fix the greens and don t lie to your customers. i won t be back unitl 100% assured the greens are healthy and fast.
